We liked the hotel. It was very accessible to what we wanted to do in downtown Anchorage. We could walk to most things, and we enjoyed the coastal trail for morning runs. The only problem with the hotel was the train that blew the horn at inconvenient times & disturbed sleep.

Overall not a bad hotel. Close enough to downtown that everything is within a 5-10 minute walk. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They were able to point out places of interest in downtown and good places to eat. Rooms were quiet and clean, just plain, a few paintings or picture on the wall would lighten up the place. You do have to get dishes and kitchen supplies from the front desk. Breakfast is "grab & go" which means it's coffee, prepackaged muffins, granola bars, and oatmeal. Not what I thought was going to be there after looking online. Overall a great location, and clean rooms. Staff was great, would stay here again.

Our bags did not arrive on our flight and we were told they would deliver them to our hotel at 5.30 p.m. when they hadn't been delivered by 7.00p.m. the hotel staff went out of their way to find out what had happened to them. When they were told they couldn't deliver them till about 11.00p.m they drove us back to the airport to pick them up. That is what l call service.

Large room with a kitchen facility to cook my own meals. Fred Mayer shop a couple of blocks (= walking distance for me) along the Seward highway to do the required shopping. I was able to suit myself and staff were helpful with my future booking needs.

Enjoyed stay here. Comfortable older hotel. Nice and roomy with kitchette. Only negative is that there is no elevator and my wife had difficulty walking up to 4th floor. After my running of marathon this was an issue also. There is also no air conditioner and floor fans are necessary to keep comfortable even in Alaska, so if you don't mind running a box fan you will be happy.

We travel through Anchorage frequently and have found the Aviator to be a reasonably priced hotel within walking distance of every place we want to go in town. The rooms are large and, most importantly, the new beds are really comfortable. The one issue is the limited size of the parking area.
