Couldn't wait to stay here as the pictures looked super intriguing. We weren't disappointed. It's an amazing hotel, the staff are so polite and helpful. The room we had was big and better yet, spotless. 2 minute walk to a tram stop which makes travelling cheap and easy. Will definitely stay again. Thank you.

We stayed at Pension Homeland for 2 nights. The place used to be naval base, situated in the park and near the huge canal. We could see beautiful old ship on the water and park from our window. Location of the hotel is perfect, very quet and yet so close to all attractins, you pass maritime museum and the bridge, turn right into tunnel street and in 5-10 min, depending on how fast you walk, you are in Dam square. Central station is also very close. Staff of the hotel is very pleasant and accomodating, all your inquiries will be answered in details. There is a restaurant with a nice view of the park and canal. You can have breakfast there. Food is OK. They also have their own brewery, but you are in Holland, great beer is everywhere. Room is pretty basic, but very clean. At the time we visited Amsterdam, they had huge government convention, and we did not have lots of choices of Hotel, I thought Pension Homeland turned out to be great for couple of night. We were there prior to river cruise and it worked out just fine. If someone wants to go to Anne Frank Museum, try to get tickets in advance, we, unfortunately, couldn't get there, the line was huge. Very good way to see Amsterdam is the hop-on-off bus. You can take it in front of Central Station, but the real treat was boat ride. Having been to Amsterdam several times, we still had such fun and pleasure to take in this beautiful and such different city!

Fantastic little hotel with very easy going staff whom are really friendly and helpful. Room was nice and clean however our bathroom was built into the roof and I'm 6'2 and had troubles fitting into the shower. As well as the shelving below the mirrors is too close to the sink so washing your face is troublesome. Other than this the hotel was great!

The rooms were small but very comfortable, clean and had new comfortable beds! and they had free goodies in the mini fridge! just having a little fridge is such a great thing to have when traveling as well it had modern bathrooms, which were well stocked, clean and the water pressure was great. the rooms had no AC but I did not expect this anyways. The hotel itself is really pretty and the breakfast room is a stunning turn of the century room with a magnificent ceiling and wall décor! worth stepping into this room even if you don't have breakfast! the location is so perfect, right on the tram line and the neighborhood is safe, lovely and very family friendly and easy walking distance to all the major sites. They even had a very sweet cat that lived at the hotel. I will absolutely stay there again and recommend it highly. as well the staff was very friendly. ...

This area is known as Plantage (Plantation) and while its lush parkland has mostly gone, botanical gardens and the small Artis Zoo provide refuge from the hustle of the city. To the north, the excellent maritime Nederlands Scheepvaartmuseum is a reminder of Dutch naval power; to the south the ethnographical Tropenmuseum holds exotic treasures from the Dutch East Indies.
