"Small and nice"
I didn't like the location, but the hotel itself was nice. The room was tiny but furniture and bedding were all updated and comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing. They didn't have any fruit or egg on the second day. All they had was pastries, coffee and cereal. They were out of hot drink cups so I had to ask. They gave me the flimsy cup used for the bathroom to rinse your mouth.

"Heart of downtown...close to alot of shopping "
Not bad for a 4 star but I've stayed in 3 stars that were better. The lady who clean my room the first night forgot to give me a face towel so I had to use a hand towel for 2 days to wash my face. I sent my family member downstairs to get me a face towel and all they gave him was more hand towels and the one you use on the floor when you get out of the shower. Pretty aggravating is you ask me. Rooms were a little tight in sizes but ok for the price.

"convenient"
The only thing I did not like about the Sonesta was the lobby. It was dark, crowded and noisy - tile everywhere and dark walls. No place to relax or wait for someone or have a quiet conversation. We could not hear the check in lady over the noise! Other than that the rooms and staff were excellent. We were there for Penn alumni weekend and had a great time. Thank you.

"Housekeeping and Customer Service lacking"
The hotel is in a great building and my room was really nice. After my first night, I left at 6:30am and returned around 10:30pm to find that my room had never been visited by housekeeping. My bed wasn't made and the bathroom towels were still on the floor etc. It's really disappointing to spend so much money for a nice hotel and not get basic services like this. I called the front desk immediately upon returning and they said they would let housekeeping know the following day. I was actually surprised that they didn't apologize or offer me anything like a breakfast, or some other concession for this inconvenience. That's not the type of service that wins customer loyalty. Simply offering to send up a bottle of wine, have a complimentary breakfast (or dinner), would be what is expected. But when nothing other than telling me that housekeeping will be notified is just a good reason not to return to a Loews hotel in the future.

"Convenient location but terrible parking lot"
Location was convenient to major tourist attractions. We walked everywhere. Since it is in an urban setting, you have to be comfortable sleeping to the sound of cars passing by. The pool on the roof was closed as it is the off season. That was disappointing given it was in the 70s for weather. The heater in the room was off the the weather. It got cold in the morning, so the hotel clerk brought a space heater for me. My biggest complaint is the parking lot and how disorganized it was. I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and was not able to get my Hertz rental car out of the lot until over 30 minutes later. The Hertz employee said that the hotel's priority was letting people into their lot and not out of. I just wonder how awful this could have been everyday if I had paid for a rental car daily and had to pay the nightly parking fee but had poor ability to actually leave the lot timely. It's a good thing we weren't in a rush, but we were heading out on a 5 hour drive to Boston so it wasn't fun having to wait around for that long. There needs to be a better system of letting cars out of the lot. I noticed that the incoming traffic lane had cars parked. They must have been using that lane for overflow parking. Not cool.

The hotel has a dirty feel about it because construction was going on and piles of flooring were in the entry way hall. The person who checked me in was ok but could have been much more friendly.

    Explore Philadelphia

The birthplace of American independence, Philadelphia wears its history with pride. Old brick streets trundle past 18th-century buildings where the likes of Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson once gathered. But Philly is also a vibrant city with farm-to-table restaurants, a buzzing bar scene and an eclectic assortment of galleries, theaters and jazz clubs.

Independence National Park, aka "America's most historic square mile," is a visitor favorite, with its shaded lawns and colonial buildings. The iconic Liberty Bell, the interactive National Constitutional Center and costumed performers help bring the past to life.

Philly’s present is just as exciting. The Philadelphia Museum of Art and the idiosyncratic Barnes Foundation house grand collections of European works. Foodies adore the old-school Italian Market and the bustling streets of Chinatown, jam-packed with authentic eateries from every province. Gastropubs, wine bars and modern American bistros dot the streets of Old City and Rittenhouse Square. Work off your meal with a run or cycle through 9200-acre Fairmount Park, with miles of leafy trails skirting along the Schuylkill River.
