Cozy hotel within walking to major sites in Old Montreal. We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel which was very good. Relaxed by the fire after an after dinner stroll one evening. ( It was 38 degrees F on May 8...check the weather , glad we had our winter coats) Our interest was Old Montreal and we accomplished what we set out to do by walking to everything. If all boutique hotels are like the Nelligan, I am going to research other ones for future travel. Enjoy!

I was only in Montreal for 24 hours but the comfort, coziness, cleanliness and old-world-charm of the hotel made for an enjoyable stay. Terrific staff, and beautifully appointed room. Restaurant, XO, is pretty as well.

Almost perfect stay at the W. My only complaint is that you can hear loud clubbing music all the way to the 9th floor. This only happened on the Saturday evening. The following nights were fine. The water in the sink and shower take at least a couple of minutes to warm up. Other than that, everything else was perfect. Room was nice and clean and service was impeccable. Will definitely stay there again, but I will have to ask for a room away from the loud clubbing music.

Upon our Uber arrival, a doorman greeted us by name (still not sure how he knew our names!) and helped us get the luggage out of the rain. He escorted us inside and after a quick and pleasant check in, he lead us the two easy blocks to our loft. He carried all of our luggage (!) up the stairs, helped us get settled, and answered the few questions we had. The loft was gorgeous. VERY clean. SUPER comfortable. Our view was nice, even picturesque. The bed was perfect. I wish we'd had more time to spend in Montreal just so we could enjoy the loft a little longer!

Old Montreal, the city's birthplace in 1642, features restored buildings used as shops, galleries, cafes, offices, and bars. Popular with visitors is Notre-Dame Basilica, noted for its neo-Gothic style, stained glass, and its Casavant organ with nearly 7,000 individual pipes. The Old Port stretches 2 km along the Saint Lawrence River and offers boat tours, bike paths, ice skating, and festivals.
