Hotel Aliados

Rua Elisio de Melo, 27, Porto - Map
"Centrally located."
Saw this hotel online and booked it. It was in a GREAT location, clean and comfortable. I had a balcony overlooking the square on Avenida dos Aliados. I am a solo traveler and my room was everything I had hoped it would be and more.

The House Ribeira Porto Hotel

Rua Infante Dom Henrique, 26, Porto - Map
"Best location, comfortable stay"
Perfect location on street after cais de ribeira (2 min walk). Comfortable beds and pillows and black out curtains!! Good rate for such a location. Close to restaurants and walking distance to most must see porto places (you will be walking slightly uphill so where good shoes) If your sensitive to noise dont get a room overlooking street. Rooms are modern -one odd thing is thr wahsroom/ showers are fairly open (only has a semi frosted glass door) and the sink was completely exposed. It was ok for myself and my husband but would be odd with just friends. We had great service with the staff. Good breakfast with pastrys eggs bacon homemade bread. but i would check out other breakfast locations near by as many restaurants cafes near by. they offer a free smart phone during ur stay with wifi and local calling!

Park Hotel Porto Aeroporto

Avenida do Aeroporto, 241, Maia - Map
"Excellent clean hotel right next to the airport."
Arrived at Porto airport just after 9pm. The first thing that strikes you about the hotel is that you can see it but cant immediately work out how to get to it (in front of Porto airport are a mass of dual carriageway roads with no footpaths). Anyway, go to the left hand side of the front of the airport (as you look away from the terminal) and you come to a footpath which will take you to the hotel - 5 mins walk maximum. Staff really pleasant and spoke great English. Check in took about a minute. Room very clean, very comfortable. Think Premier Inn in the UK and its very similar to that. Basic but clean and comfortable. (No tea and coffee making facilities mind you). Had to get into Porto the next morning - easy - the metro station is about a two minute walk from the hotel (no need to go back to the station at the airport). 1euro 50 for any journey (plus 60 cents first time for ticket that you then recharge each time you need to). All the ticket machines have an English option thus easy to use. Journey into Porto takes about 25 mins to the centre; I had to go near FC Porto football ground it took 30mins maximum. Simple signage, cant go wrong. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. One thing to note though - Porto itself is very hilly.

Praca da Ribeira, 1, Porto - Map
A very convenient, but very busy location. I think they need to close the hotel lobby from outside guests, or at least restrict access. It makes for a very hectic and dirty atmosphere, which is not conductive to sitting at the outdoor cafe and enjoying the lovely river view. The staff was great, a lovely breakfast and very thoughtful touches- we had a very early flight and they sent a lovely breakfast to our room before we left. They were very helpful and efficient, a pleasure to deal with!

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
