"Hotel with great spirit"
Everyone at the hotel went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, particularly the desk manager. Whether it was coming to my room with me when I couldn't get the key to work, or helping me get a bus ticket to Vigo on a Sunday, he was always cheerful and helpful. Other people were too; for example, the waitress who evidently didn't feel like I had ordered enough for lunch who brought me a little extra dish from the kitchen to try. Due to several flight delays, I arrived at the hotel very late feeling grumpy, but they made it impossible for me to feel grumpy once I stepped in the door!

Great location and hotel! Enjoyed our stay...staff was very helpful. Only negative, is toilet has glass door where person in room is 70% visable to other people in room. Weird.

"At the heart of the city...BUT..."
Location cannot be faulted and the splendour of the ground floor is unquestionable.....BUT....the bedrooms themselves leave a lot to be desired. To say they are compact is an overstatement. It is impossible to pass by your room mate on the way to the loo or shower and you will have to draw up a timetable to utilise the scant facilities. There is no provision at all for a hot drink, the sinks fail to retain water, the mattresses are rock hard, the showers lack power and for some very strange reason the walls are covered in mirrors.Clearly meant to give the impression of space but nothing else.

Rua Sa da Bandeira, 84, Porto - Map
"An excellent hotel in a prime location."
This is a very well equipped and friendly hotel in a great part of central Porto in the old town. My room and bed were very comfortable with an excellent shower. However, no bath. Otherwise, it had everything I needed, even a couple of umbrellas in case it rained. The only downside to my room was that it was a little dark and that had I been sharing, there was no privacy between the bathroom area and the bedroom. Breakfast was adequate, however, I found having to queue for the Nespresso machine which only produced a very small cup of coffee very irritating and for many guests especially the older ones, very confusing. For the less patient amongst us, a large urn of filter coffee as an alternative would have been great.

"Great hotel"
Extremely well run hotel. What impressed us most was the charm and professionalism of every member of staff. Although in Gaia and therefore not in the centre of the old city of Porto, the view of Porto from the hotel is outstanding.

"Conveniently located at the center"
Good hotel on the quiet street in the city center. Nice and welcoming stuff of young interns trying hard to make you feel good. The hotel doesn't have pool, fitness center or spa as any big mega-chain with this rating, but if want nice, clean and quiet without a glitz, this hotel is for you.

Rua dos Caldeireiros 131, Porto - Map
"Great location in the heart of tourist Lisboa."
This guesthouse is a short walk ( 5 minutes) from either the Rossio Train station or the Baixa-Chiado metro stop ( take the exit to Praca Louis da Camoes). We came in from the airport on the metro ( one change) - it was cheap and easy, assuming you've done your homework and know where to change trains. The Guesthouse itself is just a big door on the street, with no outside markings at all - if I hadn't googled it using street view I'm not sure how I would have found it. There was a small label by one of the intercom buttons that gave a clue, so I pressed it and we were buzzed in. Totally dark entrance, with a skylight 4 floors up the only source of light. As we found out later, there is a switch inside beside the door that turns on the lights. We hiked up the stairs with our luggage ( 72 stairs) to the 4th floor, and were greeted at the door to the guesthouse. We managed just fine, but I repeat - 72 stairs with luggage. Be aware of this as you consider booking here, and be prepared to do your homework to locate the place - street map, etc. - because street signage is mostly non-existent in Lisboa, as in most of Portugal.

Porto is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Porto, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Porto hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
