We were very suprised when the staff offered an upgrade on arrival. The room was spotless and very spacious. The bed was very comfortable as well as the sofa bed (usually the sofa beds are very bad). Our two kids slept on the sofa. We were on the 9th floor and it was very quiet although our room was facing the main road. The tram stop is accross the street and the hotel is only two stops away from CBD tram free zone. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

We felt we had value for money at this inexpensive hotel. Included in the cost was a choice of breakfast foods (some cooked) which we ate in the pleasant breakfast room. Off street parking was another plus although there is not a large number of spaces. Our room had a pleasant outlook & was small but adequate. Like the rest of the hotel, it was a bit rundown and needed some attention. The surrounding area is very quiet and pleasant and the city is a short walk to the city through the gardens.

Had conference at Mercure hotel which is 10mins walk from this hotel through the park. Price was about one fifth that being charged by Mercure, so it was a no brainer. The hotel staff were excellent and even rang me several days before my check in to see if I needed parking and to make sure i knew there were no desk staff late at night. Overall a great experience for a great price

Though it sounds like a far-flung suburb, East Melbourne is very much in the heart of the city and home to Parliament House, seat of the Parliament of Victoria. Nearby is St. Patrick's Cathedral, a gothic revival edifice and the largest church in Australia. Fitzroy Gardens features a miniature Tudor village. The Melbourne Cricket Ground is one of the largest stadiums in the world.
