The hotel is a bit outdated, but I did appreciate the hot breakfast and the friendliness of the kitchen staff. The reception staff, however was very curt, and unable to immediately accomodate my simple request for a late check-out. First I was told I had to wait until the morning, then at 6:30am I was told I had to wait until 7am.
The kitchen staff was very friendly and accomodating to our requests.

I'm an experienced business traveler, accustomed to occasionally ordering room service. This one was a real rip-off. The listed price was only about 60% of what I ended up paying, after not one, not two, but THREE service charges that added up significantly. The food is not bad--pretty good--but walk down and order it from the restaurant before you change into your PJs so you don't get charged ridiculous fees.

We had a great stay at the Fairview Inn in Jackson, MS! It is a perfect stop for a relaxing hotel, giving a feel of down south home at every point. From the greeting (and personal orientation/tour) by the staff upon check-in, enjoying specialty cocktails at the Library Bar, the clean and well decorated comforts in the suite, the family 24 hour (self serve snacks, water, coffee) kitchenette, the kind personal service.... we had nothing but a great experience. The two course breakfast was perfect, from the heated coffee cups to the delicious southern breakfast prepared to order! It is obvious that pride is taken to keep this gem going! The choice of indoor or outdoor seating in the bar was great. The outdoor seating is under the most beautiful old Magnolia Tree I have ever seen. Thank you for a great experience!

This has been our hotel of choice for the last 3 years. We normally get a suite but opted for just a King. I didn't think to ask if this room would gave a refrigerator and microwave like the suites. But we lucked out being on the 1st floor where the microwave and where breakfast being served. Having a new baby this made everything so convenient. All the staff greeted us always and were very nice. Will be staying here next Thanksgiving as well.

At the center stands the Beaux Arts-style State Capitol and Greek Revival-style Governor's Mansion. The cultural district includes the Museum of Art, International Museum of Muslim Cultures, and Davis Planetarium along with Thalia Mara Hall, home to the symphony, ballet, and opera. Former slaves built the Farish Street District, which became the heart of the city's African American community.
