"Great location"
We stayed in Darwin for the V8 racing weekend and the Palms Resort was an ideal location being so close to the city, the bus terminal, the Waterfront Precinct, the Mall, the Hotel Darwin and the Esplanade. The hotel itself is a little tired, the rooms were basic but clean and the gardens are lush and tropical but in need of a tidy up. Overall it was a great stay.

"Nice Hotel, Great Location"
We booked into the Vibe Hotel because our NT tour was leaving and returning from there. We found the reception staff to be pleasant and the entrance foyer was neat and clean. Our room was ready early. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only problem I found was the shower over the bath, which meant climbing in; not easy for seniors. Otherwise, the hotel was near the Wave Lagoon, a free swim beach area, Stokes Hill Wharf and the city centre, accessed by a lift in front of the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and the Vibe has Curve Cafe with breakfast on the run for $9.95 to full breakfast options.

"Location and Value for Money"
This hotel I thought had great value for money; I booked the two bedroom non serviced unit. There was two bathrooms, balcony as well which was nice. The pros were: nice spacious room. Room condition was nice. 5-10 minute walk to entertainment areas in the city. Restaurant there is really good. Beds are comfy. Cons: Our air conditioner in the lounge room/kitchen did not work and would only get fixed when we left as there was no repairers available, however there was an air conditioner in each bedroom and the whole unit didn't seem that warm. Also the staff gave myself and my brother (who was in the other bedroom) free breakfast every day which definitely made up for this. Also the bedroom which wall is connected to the outside hall has a window which means you can see in and out of that bedroom if the curtains aren't closed, which I though was really odd. Even when the curtains were closed at night the room was bright, this is probably the most annoying aspect of staying here. Overall I greatly enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.

Mantra on the Esplanade

"Extremely well located for just about everything!"
The Mantra on the Esplanade has lots going for it, although it is not a luxurious hotel. It has lovely views of the harbour, by exiting through the back, you can walk straight into Mitchell Street and the transit bus terminal in seconds, great for tours and pick ups. There are great breakfast places close by that offer more gourmet choices and variety rather than the hotel buffet, which offers a continental and full breakfast, which is traditional and basic. There are lots of pubs, top restaurants, tourist information centre, local buses, a double decker hop on and off bus, lots of shops, movie theatre and we even managed to walk to the wharf area on 2 occasions, which is about a casual 40 minute walk each way. There are young backpackers offering tuc tuc lifts back to your hotel in the evening and night if it all becomes too much at the end of the day. Highly recommend the Mantra on the Esplanade as a launching place to everything a tourist would like to experience in Darwin.

Parap is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Parap, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Parap hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
