The Hilton Darwin is a good hotel in a central location. Although it was built some time ago, it appears to have generally been well maintained. There is plenty to do nearby and it's not far from various smart venues along the esplanade. There's a gym and a pool on the 10th Floor. These are good facilities but unfortunately my room was next to the gym which opens at 6 am each day. Regrettably the gym's sound-proofing isn't particularly good, so I was often woken up early during my week's stay by thumping noises from the gym. So as one tip, I would suggest trying to avoid being put in a room that's near, or underneath the gym. As a further tip, you may like to join Hilton Honours if you're not already a member, as doing so is free (at the time of writing) and may enable you to have free wi-fi in the room (which might otherwise cost, I believe, around AUD 25 per day).

Location is great, nice and close to all amenities and services. Staff were efficient. Check-in and out process was seamless. Comfortable, clean and quiet rooms. I only have one complaint, the pillows were old and very flat. Everything else was great.

Check-in and check-out were very quick and easy, however staff presentation was ordinary. Room was good, had everything I needed and was very clean, hiwever the air-conditioner struggled to keep up on the hot days (37+) and the bathroom tap was continually dripping. Also whwn people were smoking on the verandah outside, smoke could be smelt strongly in the room.
Overall pretty good though and the lication was fantastic in the centre if town and with plenty of car parking. Would certainly stay there again when travelling alone or with a mate, but maybe not quite as highly recommended for a romantic couple.

Staff are great, as is service.
Tired courtyards, pool surround, needing re- landscaping. Heated, good pool, great to use after a day tour. Left messy and unattended from 18.00 to 21.00, when cleaned up. Poor mechanical maintenance to the nearby spa.
Range view rooms worth the upgrade.
Disabled re- entry rear door, stopping easy return from the unrelated combined sportsmanship club 200 meters away ( golf, lawn bowls, tennis), that has a great and inexpensive restraunt. ( open to all ).

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel provides a good standard of accommodation for the price. Rooms are supported with air conditioning and tea/coffee making facilities.
