"Pay attention to the details for a great stay..."
The "hotel" is a really neat experience, especially with a family. The apartment-style setup is really convenient for multiple people staying. We drove from PA and it was nice to not have to be cramped in a single hotel room. The key to having a great stay at Isola Bella is to make sure that your unit is on the hotel side of the complex, not the apartment side.
We checked in after hours, where the process is to call the after hours manager to come to the Welcome Center & check you in. That part was practically seamless, no complaints. However, once we drove around the complex to the other side, the apartment side, although it was still a gated entrance, you could just tell it was residences and not temporary lodging. After entering the unit, it just looked less than what one would expect, including a few dead bugs & some hair strands on a bed (under the sheets...).
The good ending is that my wife called the night manager back, who had me drive back over to the Welcome Center to get setup with a different unit, one of the hotel side. It was night & day in comparison to the previous one. The night manager, Dave, needs to be commended for his empathy & sincere efforts to make things right. What he did made our stay in OK as best as it could have been.
Oh, and be sure to check out the breakfast buffet. The food was excellent.

We have stayed at The Waterford twice in the last three months for two different weddings. The hotel is centrally located and has convenient accessible parking. After late nights of parties i looked forward to a cheerful personal welcome home and the comfy bed!

Came early evening, but after daylight - so in the dim light the pool area looked invited. Took a swim - next morning at sunrise, I looked out at the green, un-inviting looking pool-water and had regrets. Also, at 8 PM the lobby was already closed and we were greeted behind the night-desk. Otherwise our stay in booth our rooms was comfortable.

It was OK. Since it had suites, the people there were more of the long term type, including construction workers, lot of trash-type people.
Took forever to check in, no one was at the front, had to call hotel for someone to come down, there was no way of signaling someone to come check me in otherwise.
Room phone had some busy signal. Luckily, didn't need it.
