We checked in on the afternoon before Anzac Day 2016, so the hotel side of things was fairly active that evening. We stayed in a heritage room (8a) for two nights, which has a shared kettle and fridge arrangement with 8! The building is full of history and just having a roam around the corridors you will find lots of pictures about the place in 1939 after it was rebuilt after a fire a few years before. It is a step back in time. The room took a bit of getting used to at first, as the windows on the heritage room we stayed in were translucent due to them overlooking the ducting etc from the kitchen downstairs. The floor plan for the hotel rooms indicates there are much larger ones upstairs that have balconies, but the heritage room suited our budget. The reception staff indicated that the exhaust fans, which could be noisy outside of the windows would be switched off at 2100h each day, which they generally were each evening on time. A full buffet cooked breakfast was thrown in as well, which was great and satisfying. You will not walk out of the place hungry! The hotel staff were absolutely fantastic. My first encounter was with a lovely reception lady that could have passed for Maggie Beer. She was helpful with local sites and the best ones to visit. The housekeeping staff were very helpful in the early morning, as the access control system on the room was a bit dodgy and locked my wife out, but the friendly staff came to the rescue. A charming place worth a visit

We stopped at Cape Lodge for 6 nights.
All the staff were lovely, and a credit to the hotel.
The grounds, tennis court & pool were first class.
We ate in the restaurant 3 nights, and food & wine was FANTASTIC
Our only gripe, we thought the bedrooms could have been a little better...

5 minutes walk to the Smiths Beach. The cape to cape track to the left and to the right of the hotel provides excellent views and abundance challenges for adults and kids.
However, the waves are too big for kids to swim in the sea, and the beach is not patrolled and a warning sign shows a 2.5 meter long shark might lurk.

In September, place was colourful with all blooming flowers.
We stay in Sienna 2 nights from Thursday to Saturday. It was quite and very peaceful.

Everything was excellent and peacefull place close to places in the region with activities a short drive away. No aircon in the rooms made it a bit hot in the afternoon but once the breeze rolls in its not needed.
