"Hotel Keihan "
The staff were very nice and helpful, they changed us to a non-smoking room. The beds were comfy. The breakfast was nice and there was plenty of choice. Try to get a room at the back of the building. Location is good, lots of shops, sightseeing spots and train station near by.

"Good to/from NRT, but beds offer zero support"
My dad and I booked a single room each. The rooms are relatively spacious for a Japanese business hote, with good amenities. For us, the beds are horrible, way to soft. The pillows were flat, which only added to the strain to the back. After the first night, my upper back and shoulders were so stiff, whilst my dad felt it in his lower back which made travelling around the city difficult. If you do not get a corner room, cleaning is very loud and so are the noises of screaming children checking out early. If you get a corner room, it is peaceful. If soft beds are your thing, then this hotel is in a perfect location. Please note that if you are travelling to/from HND there are several changes between different train lines needed, or approx 15min walk. If you are travelling to/from NRT this location is perfect, literally in front of the gate exit.

"Good location"
The hotel is well placed walking distance to a number of subway stations and has a large shopping/market area located in the streets behind. Although the room was small by western standards, it was functional, clean and modern. Breakfast was a limited choice but there are other alternatives nearby. Wifi was good. I would be happy to stay here again.

"quiet hotel location"
hotel located at a quiet area of ueno. though map looks to be near ueno station and even further from keisei station, it is quite a walking distance (especially after you are tired walking all day). Otherwise, room is small (like any other hotel rooms in japan) and clean.

"So close to Ueno Tokyo station."
So close to Ueno Tokyo station. Only 5 min walk away. Nice breakfast in morning. Was idea as a last hotel before traveling as straight onto main train to airport. Very clean. Staff really helpful. And reasonably priced. Would go back and stay there next time.

"Beautiful hotel - lots to see and do in the area. "
We were so pleased with our time at the Gate Hotel! It is in an area called Asakusa and there is loads of great sites and shopping nearby. Some very well known bakeries where locals are waiting in long lines. We had one of the least expensive rooms and it didn't have the magnificent view from the lobby but still perfectly fine view. Room large and the most comfortable pjs to use! This was our final night and we wished we had a couple more days. Also had a grocery store on the bottom and we stocked up on food and gifts to bring home. Liked this area more than Ginza for the authenticity and ability to be with locals in a vibrant part of town.

"Exceptional hotel but rooms are tiny"
I've stayed here previously. Facilities are clean. Staff are friendly. Short from from both subway lines. Convenient way to get to and from Haneda Airport. They also kept our luggages with after check out with no problems. In they afternoon they have a 'take as you need' toiletries station (e.g moisturisers, face mask, cleanser etc). We did not try the breakfast there. Rooms were very small even for Japanese standard. I could not open my suitcase unless I blocked the front door. My friends who shared the room had even more trouble with their suitcases.

Taito is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Taito, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Taito hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
