I can't say enough positive things about Spier Hotel at the Spier Wine Farm. They provided top notch and warm service from the time we booked and even up until now--I have written back to inquire about some of the art and I always get timely and kind correspondence. It is a gorgeous property that is just like a Contemporary Art Museum. Amazing collection of art and such gorgeous rooms and spaces and kind people.

This is such a wonderful retreat. Nestled down the dirt road of a working vineyard, this country house is quiet and modest yet quite luxurious. The perfect place to be spoiled with relaxation, delicious food and wine and spectacular views. My stay was short so I hope to return someday to really relish this place and its slow life away from it all. The sunset over the mountains and countryside is worth the trip alone!

"New Scenery after two weeks at Sea Point,CapeTown"
My daughter and I had to get out of our Condo in CapeTown but could not get a reservation back to Denver, CO for a couple of days as it was the end of Thanksgiving week. We decided to go to Stellenbasch and spend a couple days traveling around the area of the Wine Country. The Guest House was ideal for what we wanted to do which was relax, be able to walk most everywhere, have a swimming pool to rest and enjoy the warmth of being below the Equator in addition to doing a little wine tasting. A delightful and quaint place to stay and the rooms were spotless even with the age of the Guest House. The breakfasts were the best we had on the entire trip especially in terms of quality. They fixed what ever one would want to eat in addition to other cultural breakfast items daily. I can't say enough about the staff and personal. They were friendly and helpful in a very genuine way. They have a room with a shower for those that have late flights and a place to leave the luggage. As our flight was a very late one we spent the time walking around the town, picking up a few pieces of jewelry,( for memories) lunch and people watching for a couple of hours. A delightful place to stay and reminded me of staying in Guest Houses in London in the 60's. I would definitely return to stay at the Fynbos Villa again if in the area. Attracts such friendly guests!
s our flight was a late one in CapeTown so we hung around Stellenbasch walked around, had lunch and picked up a few souvenirs.

Quality furniture and finishings, rooms could be bigger. Right on the busy road, but double windows make sure that no sound comes through. Parking in the back is tight and you have to be a good driver to get in and out. Lack of space is also apparent in set up of hall, lift and entrance. Lovely personalised breakfast. Walking distance to everything.

We chose Clouds Estate because a family member was getting married at another wine estate nearby.
From the moment we arrived the staff were very warm and welcoming. They went out of their way to help, offering taxis etc. In addition, the housekeeping at our villa was quick and efficient. Our accommodation was contemporary and beautiful. There were full kitchen facilities, with a complimentary bottle of Clouds wine chilling in the fridge. The bathroom was well stocked with luxury items. The setting and view from the villa (number 10) was spectacular; there were large patio doors opening onto a deck area with ample seating.
The restaurant and lounge area in the main hotel provided a serene ambiance; again with fantastic vistas. This setting along with high quality, delicious food and their own wines (others are available) made our dining experience a pleasure. We must mention Bruce who looked after us at dinner. He helped to make the dining experience special with his quiet and professional approach whilst anticipating our needs. The breakfasts were also delicious with a full range of fruit, meat, cheeses etc along with the opportunity to order a cooked breakfast as well. A touch of luxury was provided each morning with the opportunity to start the day with a buck's fizz; delightful for non-drivers.
Clouds' attention to detail enabled us to have a truly delightful experience including peace and quiet. We would highly recommend it.
