"A small gem of impeccable quality"
This small boutique hotel is located in the midst of the Medina & is therefore a bit tricky to find, but staying there is a wonderful experience. The owner/hostess is a charming Frenchwoman (her co-owner husband was out of town during our stay), & the hotel is a reflection of their impeccable taste. The modern yet classic decor, the high-end quality of the rooms & furnishings. the quietly efficient staff, & the personal service are all immaculate. A superb breakfast & a wonderful view of Tangier from the rooftop lounge top it off. This place is a gem.

"Good location in medina"
Hotel is in the medina, so in the thick of things, but near the edge so you don't get lost going in. It's a nicely clean and modern place, contrasting the ancient setting. The hotel itself is rustic but not lacking in amenities. The staff printed our boarding passes for us and our beds were made for us during the day.

"Nicely Located – great staff"
We stayed three nights at Das Sultan. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The courtyard and our room were nicely decorated; very exotic. I took many pictures. The breakfast was a variety of delicious foods. You have breakfast up on the roof with a nice view. We had dinner there on our third night – it was a delicious three-course dinner. We felt treated like royalty. The hotel is nicely located in the Kasbah. Just a 5-minute walk to the Medina. We found Tangiers really safe. We walked around the narrow streets of the Kasbah and the Medina without fear. We highly recommend Das Sultan.

"Great location, decor and personnel "
We loved the riad. The building is a pearl in the middle of the medina. The owner is very nice as well as the rest of the staff and breakfast is delightful. Do not expect 5star European hotel beds, but real ordinary beds and bathroom. All very clean, quiet and well decorated. The riad has a beautiful terrace from which to see the city and where breakfast is served. We would totally indicate it for anyone willing to be at an original building.

"Older hotel in a good location"
This hotel has definitely passed its prime- you can see the past glory in the tilework and architecture in parts of the hotel (the breakfast area in particular has lovely accents). There is a disparity between the rooms- some have new bedding which makes the rooms look much nicer than they are, but most rooms still have old comforters that have seen better days. We had 2 rooms in this reservation. Room 211 is small with 1 full bed, but serviceable. Room 216 has 2 twin beds that can be pushed together. While it is spacious, there were a few issues. The doorknob & lock are a standard household doorknob with a push-in lock. I didn't feel very secure with this type of lock. This room overlooks a street, and can be quite loud with passerby conversation. The toilet in this room wasn't properly secured to the ground and felt like it might tip over. There was no hot water for most of my 2-night stay (the hotel only provides hot water from 6am-11am and in the evening)- my room may have been affected by work being done in nearby rooms, the explanation was a bit lost in translation. They offered to provide me with another room (for at least the shower) but I was able to shower in my friend's room. Breakfast is adequate, though maybe not sufficiently replenished near the end of serving (10:30am). The hotel stored our bags for us in a secure room and called for a cab to take us to the airport. Despite how it may look on maps, cars are able to access the hotel directly.

"Good location, nice staff, but room hot & privacy?"
Overall the Riad was great. The staff very personable, and generally made me feel comfortable, even when i spent some days largely in my room. The place was clean, including bathroom & the bed comfortable but as with Any Riad you have to accept a degree of less privacy, but at the same time i felt safe & felt that my possessions were safe. Very rare for any accommodation in the region, the room included a jug & complentary tea & coffee (brought my own tea & coffee and only place on trip i had a jug - thank you). Breakfast was simple yet lovely, but as with anywhere it's better to not come towards end of the stated breakfast time period as less range. Beautifully yet simply appointed in usual Moroccan style. Considering the confusion navigating the Tangier Medina, the Riad was reasonably located, close to the Continental Hotel which is well signposted and only 3 minutes into the medina. Once inside the Riad I felt safe, and was generally quiet. The only real downside was the flipside of last comment, no external windows (norm in Morocco) & only a small internal window....when awake I'd leave that open to let some air in, but when wanted privacy or sleeping, i would shut it. Sadly this made the room quite stuffy & hot and was unable to sleep properly whilst there, but i am a light sleeper. Air conditioning was provided in form of a small standing fan/heater which sadly was quite inadequate & too noisy to sleep with. Ceiling fan & would be a great Riad (remember not hotel).

"Amazing Stay"
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Kasbah Rose for three nights and could not more highly recommend the place. The house is clean, cute, and cozy, and the owners, Hans and Lorraine, go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. The rooftop patio offers stunning views of the city and the Moroccan breakfasts are superb. It is also in a good location for exploring the city and near many good restaurants and cafes. We will definitely stay there again then next time we visit Tangier.

"Lovely Hotel in Heart of Medina"
I stayed for 2 weeks at this hotel in early June and had a wonderful time. I used it as a base to explore Tangier as well as nearby towns such as Tetouan and Chaouen. There were some problems with the hotel owner but these were resolved satisfactorily. I was given a change of room since my first one was very noisy. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace which was lovely and the hotel facilities, décor and staff were excellent. I would happily recommend this hotel to a friend and will certainly return myself.

Medina of Tangier is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Medina of Tangier, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Medina of Tangier hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
