"Very nice hotel, clean, nice beach & pool"
We had a great 1-week stay here. We enjoyed the many features: beach, fish ponds, pool, restaurants, and the room/view was great. The hotel is beautiful, the open architecture and focus on water throughout is very unique. We visited a couple of the nearby resorts/hotels we had considered when booking the trip and it made us feel that we made the right choice, best value especially considering the price. Also, a drastic difference between the crowds we encountered at the other resorts compared with Mauna Lani, there was never more than 10 people in the pool. Convenient strip mall nearby including 4-5 restaurants (Ruth's Chris, Tommy Bahama). Didn't get a chance to try the golf course, but looks beautiful and challenging.

"Nice hotel, but overpriced "
The hotel itself and the staff were acceptable. The location was beautiful. My wife and I stayed there for the Hawaii IRONMAN 70.3. We were disappointed with the food, both in regards to taste and price. Everything is at least twice its rightful cost.

"Nice hotel"
It's a big grand hotel right next to the sea. The location is amazing. The staff are mostly lovely and really polite, although a couple were very rude for no reason. The cost of food there is high and is average quality. Overall I'd go back but would likely go to another hotel. The luau there is great. I really enjoyed that and was value for money. On 1 night we had extremely loud neighbors that played loud music and decided to have a party in their room. I spoke with reception 4 times before they eventually resolved it. They didn't seem hugely interested but when pushed did sort it out

"Great Space and Views"
I recently stayed here for 3 nights and almost wish I had stayed longer or that they had had something like this on the other side of the island. I stayed in one of the one bedroom condos, and this condo is huge. I read some reviews that called them dated and such, and while that might be true to some, I think you have to remember that on a whole, the whole island is that way. It isn't going to be what you see in a modern hotel. The entire island is like going through a time warp. The condo was budget friendly, spacious, extremely comfortable, and well appointed. While it isn't ocean view and it doesn't have ocean access, you can clearly see the coast from the pool area and the restaurant and it the view is stunning. They leave you with everything you need for your stay, the kitchen is great, and you are not that far from everything happening in Kona but still get a secluded feeling for relaxing. The lanai was amazing. And everything smelled like Plumeria. The pools were nice and the views from that area were beautiful. This is a great little find.

"Spacious room for a family. "
The complex was beautiful with a nice work out area, BBQ, and pool. The gardening was immaculate and clean. The living space was clean and perfect for our family of six. The kitchen had a very basic set of utensils and no other necessities. Overall, we had a wonderful trip on the best side of the island.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kaupulehu hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
