"great location on one of the best beaches"
great location on one of the best beaches on the island. room and service were ok but the location and view made up for most of those shortcomings. seriously lacking in food options especially after 9pm.

"Great location"
The facility is old and their wifi is a joke but the location is perfect in the heart of Kona and the staff are mostly helpful. Parking was only $5/day and the town is very walkable. If you are like us and just use your room to change and to sleep then this is the ideal location. Includes a mediocre continental breakfast, pool and spa.

"Perfect view "
Best views I've had in a resort. From the balcony I could see the Ali'i drive strip with the city lights behind and live music playing until 10-11. Then look the other way and see yellow fish swimming in the crystal clear water! Wish I could have stayed forever lol

"Pleasant stay"
We stayed at this location for 5 days and overall the experience was very positive. They have a nice private beach with relatively calm shore. This was good for us as we wanted our 18 month old to experience ocean waters without worrying about high tides. The walk to the beach around the golf course is also very pleasant. Our daily ritual was to enjoy the private beach in the morning, nap time for young one in the afternoon before driving to various parts of Big Island in the second half of the day. We also loved the quiet of this location as compared to Kona which seemed a bit more busy. Having said that the location was well placed from various interesting points (Waikoloa Beach, Coffee farms, Pololu Valley lookout and Kona). None of these locations required more than 30-45 mins drive. While in general the staff was very good and courteous, there were a couple of occasions where we felt they could improve. For eg: We asked for late checkout options (checkout was at 10 AM while our flight was at 8 PM). Initially they mentioned they would be able to accommodate us but eventually the option they gave us was to pay $175 to extend the checkout till 6 PM. Their housekeeping was also a bit superficial - few food stains were uncleaned and stuff not put back in the original positions. Apart from the above issues which we felt were minor in the overall context, the overall experience was very pleasant and we would not hesitate to stay there again when we visit Big Island.

"Excellent Vacation Experience!"
My family and I had an amazing experience at Castle Halii Kai at Waikoloa. We had an ocean view room with a nice view from the balcony. We had plenty of room and felt comfortable all 6 days we were present. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The pool was amazing and was next to the bar/restaurant.

"It is an awesome resort. Close to the beach."
We had a great stay at this resort. The condo was very nice. The view from our patio was of the golf course, not the beach, but was great non the less. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub were fine. Location was very good. Awesome all the way around. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kaupulehu hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
