"Nice hotel close to the water and shopping. "
The hotel was sort of retro cool. It was nice to have AC in the room considering most of the island eschews AC. Didn't like the parking situation, but an overall good experience.

"Vintage hotel on the ocean "
A very reasonable choice. Attractive grounds and within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and attractions. The hotel restaurant was in need of updating. But the luau was quite good. Popular poolside bar.

"Nice hotel but some problems"
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The ocean front view is worth the extra pennies, it's very good. The rooms are very big and the balcony very enjoyable. Parking is free and the free DVD renting machine is a good idea. Good location but hard to access without a car like most things in Hawaii. On the downside. I specifically requested a 3 bed bedrooms when I booked but they ignored it and gave us 2 beds and a sofa bed instead of a crib. They said they were sold out for the night but we could change room the following day. What's the point of asking for a bed choices if they disregard it. We chose this hotel because of the extra rollway bed. The other problem was the mattresses that were not that confortable and gave us a sore neck and upper back

"Nice hotel perfect for a family "
We loved it. It was close to town. Had lots of parking for hotel and guests. Rooms were perfect for a big family. Nice deck to relax on. Pool is small but good for young kids or just to cool off with a quick dip. Two large screen t.v.'s and two full bathrooms. We loved it and plan to go back for our next trip!

"Good location, dated and budget hotel."
Rented a hotel at last minute (due to missed flight). Pleasantly surprised with location, but hotel could really do with a modest set of investments -- the bed was very old spring mattress, and the jacuzzi has been "turned into a kiddie pool". (Which is to say there are no jets in it, apparently. I didn't test the temperature but I assume it is not "hot".)

"Close to the beach and comfortable."
It was a nice location, but not much of a beach persay. Still nice to be able to check out the water in the morning. The photon I slept on was amazingly comfortable I didn't want to get out of bed in the morning! It's an older building but they do a nice job keeping it up. The only thing I didn't like was the room cleaning cost. It wouldn't be bad if you were staying a week or so but we stayed one night and got dinged 60$ understandable but I wasn't aware obv that cost prior to booking and that would of swayed me to finding just a common hotel.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kailua-Kona hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
