"Very nice luxury hotel"
We stayed two nights and had a great experience. We used the self-parking, and while my wife waited for me to return from dropping off the car, the valet gave her a cold drink. Very nice leis were given to us on check-in. We paid to upgrade to an ocean-front room, and being able to see and hear the waves from our room was absolutely worth it. Although some people have described the rooms as "dated," I found the dark wood to be more on the sophisticated side. There is a small mall with a few coffee shops and a grocery store about half a mile away, and we walked to it for breakfast. There are also some nice trails through a historic area that we enjoyed in the morning before the sun got too high. The pool area was well-maintained, and the sandy beach a great place to hang out. Overall, I would highly recommend this resort, although the price means it is likely only a special-occasion place for most people.

"Beautiful view!"
We stayed in a corner room with ocean view. It was absolutely beautiful! The staff was also very accomodating. We needed extra towels and they delivered them before we could back to our room. When back in Hawaii we will stay at the Royal Kona Resort again.

"Great stay for 50th Anniversary "
Beautiful surroundings and great service. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Elevator broken several days. Air conditioner would not cut off but adjustment was made promptly. Put beach chairs away too early in the evening. Great breakfast buffet but evening dining expensive. Beautiful beach and good pool but needs more shaded lounge chairs. Over all a 4.5 rating.

"Missing the easy stuff"
This condo is a nicely configured 2 bedroom at a location (MaunaLani Point)we love with its proximity to a nice semi private beach w parking and golf...but there are what I believe are essential items missing that condos of this sort rent with and I expected to find: #1. Beach chairs... are u kidding me? This place doesn't have beach chairs provided... nothing fancy... the cheap Costco ones would do, but u need something. Also other HI beach condos I've rented usually had 2. Snorkel gear 3. Boogie boards etc. also missing were 4. simple kitchen fundamentals like salt and pepper, cooking oil, basic kitchen condiments like that. Otherwise the bigstuff was nice except this building (e) is further from the best ocean views than buildings A-D.

Kona Reef has no onsite Management so Kona Bali Kai down the street manages. Samantha is awesome and very responsive. This is not a hotel but condos and some are privately owned- so we dealt with construction noise next door. Beds are hard as a rock but everything else was great. Washer and dryers in units and all kitchen necessities that you can possibly need. Close to town but far enough away to not deal with it if you don't want to. Great location and great views!!!! No sand beach which is typical for Kona.

Kona Coast is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Kona Coast, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kona Coast hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
