"All the comforts of a second home"
I have enjoyed each stay at the Kona Seaside for the past five years. The staff have been thoughtful and conscientious and have genuinely helped me on more than one occasion from finding a room for me when the area of Kona is fully booked to allowing me to cancel a double booking at the last minute. Although some may look for a little more luxury, I have been more than satisfied with the cleanliness and comfort of the room (housekeeping does an impressive job), to the overall landscape and views of the ocean and mountains. In essence, I find I look forward to returning each time.

"Beautiful resort "
Stayed in Mauna Lani with my sister and two children age 10 and 13 for several nights. Beautiful hotel with lovely walks around property to see fish ponds and turtles basking in the sun. Room large and comfortable for all four of us secondary to large lanai and spaciousness of room. Able to drive to Hawi quickly for a tour and Mauna Kea for stars although a little longer to get there. While remote in location I much preferred this location to my previous stays in crowded Kona area.

"Great pool and wonderful staff."
We stayed in a corner king room and is was spacious and comfortable. My teens loved the pool and it was right in the middle of Ali drive. I had no troubles at all. The breakfast buffet was good. Our trip was effortless on my end.

"Nice hotel but need to have car rental"
This was okay hotel. The restaurants on site were $ for what you got and quite disappointing for choices. Only one restaurant open at a time. Great off you have car to go into Kona to eat. Pool was great. Spa was also nice.

"Beach dream"
Amazing beach - I can't say enough about how lovely the water, snorkeling, boggie boarding, chairs and umbrellas, scenery were. The hotel feels welcoming and nice to walk around - it has a sheltered feel because it is on its own but you can walk to the sister resort or take a short drive grab a pizza and Cafe Pesto. We honestly didn't feel like leaving or doing much besides enjoying the beach.

"Quiet, easily accessible"
We enjoyed the stay and the orientation provided by the Hotel was appreciated, as it helped us shape our stay. The location is easy to access. The room was very clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. It was also very quiet and within walking distance of the main business area. It would be 100% perfect for anyone wishing to Golf.

"Great location;cleanliness& upkeep depend on owner"
This is our 2nd time staying at the Castle Kona Reef. The room from our 1st experience 4 years ago was very clean and well maintained with a lovely ocean view even from our garden view room. Our room on this trip was disappointing in regards to cleanliness and poor upkeep/maintenance. The bathroom tub had mold along all the molding and the shower door tracks were corroded, rusting and filled with mold. The sink in the bathroom was not clean and had soap scum on the faucet and grime between the faucet and the wall; including other people's hair trimmings. It was disgusting to say the least and I complained. The staff took down the information and reduced our cleaning fee. The kitchen needed maintenance with a broken handle on the microwave and the dishwasher falling out of the wall every time we loaded it. The bedroom closet doors were broken and would not close properly and would not stay on the tracks. The bedroom appeared clean as did the living room, kitchen and dining area. The view and location however, was amazing! We had a garden view room but nearly all rooms have at least a partial view of the ocean. We loved drinking coffee and eating breakfast on the lanai and ending our day with a beer watching the ocean hit the shore. Overall, I recommend staying here but must caution that the rooms will vary greatly depending on owner and whether the condominium takes care of the cleaning and upkeep or if the owner does. I do not recommend staying in unit B33.

Kona Coast is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Kona Coast, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kona Coast hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
