The hotel rooms are cool but a kind of small. The breakfast buffet is cheap but there isnt much variety, the elevator is slow so u have 2 wait longer than usual. The cockies at the reception are great :)

"Jewel I the crown"
My wife and I stayed at the Langham after a long flight from Sydney. We wanted to break up the trip to Orlando. We enjoyed it that much we went back on our way back to Sydney. The shuttle service into town was excellent. The young guys operating it were fantastic. Breakfast was good but maybe a little expensive Ada time. Rooms are excellent especially the bed , the towels and the TV works. The pool area is nice with some shady spots. The Ceasar Salad a big winner. Overall I think it's an excellent property and would highly recommend it.

"Quiet, Clean and Pleasant"
Rooms are large with 2 queen beds. Beds are extremely comfortable with pillowtop mattresses. Room is a bit dated, but very clean and comfortable. Room has coffee maker, but no coffee, cream or sugar. Internet service was mostly down the entire time. Desk clerk said he would reset the router, but it never improved. I had to use the data from my cell phone to use my laptop. Continental breakfast was a little sparse compared to some other hotels.

"Pasadena/JPL stay"
We needed an economy stay. The cost was a little more than what we would have liked, by comparison around the area, it fit the bill. The place seemed a little rag-tag, although with a nice wood floor. The the front desk clerk was nice, the room clean and comfortable, bathroom clean, and breakfast was more decent than expected. The location was close to where we needed to be, close to shopping, and wonderful staff let us in a little earlier than expected.

"5 Stars across the board"
What a wonderful discovery! Everything about this stay was perfect, from fresh cookies and cold bottled water on arrival, to a large, clean comfy room, with soft, soft sheets, excellent air conditioning, great water pressure, and an absolutely delicious breakfast served with a warm smile. This is a beautiful, secluded property - seems like is remote, but is actually only a few minutes from the freeway, 10 minutes to Silver Lake or downtown, 15 minutes to Hollywood, 35 minutes from the ocean. Fantastic! We would definitely stay here again.

"Close to many restaurants"
It was a convenient place to stay. Overall good. My one negative was the floor in the kitchen and bathroom area was filthy. Spilled water and wiped up with kitchen washcloth. It was sooooo dirty and sticky. Perhaps because it's a dark wood, the staff may not be able to "see" how dirty it is. Noisy, right next to Freeway.

"Decent location, solid for a motel"
We were touring LA and stayed a bit out of the way in Pasadena. Traffic out there not too bad, and the HJI was located real close to the freeway. There are plenty of things to do in Pasadena, including the Huntington library, dining in Old Town, and the Griffith Park Observatory is fairly close. Our room was clean, and the king bed was one of the most comfortable of our trip. My friend was hesitant to stay at a motel, but we felt safe and our car was parked fairly close to our fourth floor room. The bathroom was dark as hell. The TV was big and good. The elevator smelled like gasoline, which was weird, but it worked OK. The pool was super small and we didn't go in, but it seemed a good idea for the 90+ temperatures. And the breakfast was good- waffles, cereal, bagels, and Ramen for some reason... The view of the surrounding mountains was OFF THE CHAIN. Visible from the fourth floor hallway. There was a forest fire burning just beyond the mountains, so the air was pretty dirty, but obviously not the fault of the hotel. Would recommend if you're looking for a ~$115/nt stay.

"Very comfortable stay"
Stayed 3 nights here and I thought it was great. I don't know what all the complaints are about, I found it to be appropriate for the price point. Some people expect more than what they want to pay for. The rooms were clean, large, well laid out and comfortable. It's always great to have the vanity separate from the toilet and shower. The wifi was fast enough to stream and it's free for up to 4 devices. The room had a refrigerator and it even had a small balcony that you could go out and sit on to get some fresh/smoggy Pasadena air! I didn't have any problem with parking even returning at 9PM in the evening. The treadmill in the fitness room is great as is the pool. My only complaint is that the DirecTV had issues the entire time. Everything was jumpy and often pixelated. Maybe their dish needed to be adjusted? Whatever it was, it was a little irritating but not a deal breaker. The dresser drawers were also very old and very difficult to open and close because they were off the rollers. Again, not a deal breaker based on the price. It's in a good area and close to everything. You can walk to Vons grocery store in about 5 minutes and there are tons of places to eat in the area. If you need a reasonably priced place to stay in the area, I highly recommend you stay here.

"nice hotel but..."
Cool boutique hotel, but one caveat. There is no elevator. So count on a lot of stairs! They do have a bellhop to schlep your luggage which is a lifesaver. Parking is a little inconvenient as the parking garage is behind the hotel. Although there is a back entrance, you have to park on the second floor of the garage that has no stair access down to first floor, so you have to walk down the ramps and around the block to get to the back entrance. Everything else about the hotel is amazing, but the parking and lack of elevator makes getting around a bit awkward.

    Explore Pasadena

A leafy suburb north of downtown LA, Pasadena epitomizes the relaxed Southern California lifestyle. Everyone shows up on New Year’s Day for the famous Rose Parade, with its flower-bedecked floats. Year-round, you can amble through art museums and go shopping, dining and drinking along the pedestrian-friendly blocks of Old Pasadena.

Start with a tour of the Gamble House, an excellent example of early-20th-century California bungalow architecture, or explore the Norton Simon Museum of European and Asian art. If it’s just too gorgeously sunny to spend all day indoors, head east to the Huntington estate and stroll through its botanical gardens, then admire the art collection and rare books in the library. On one Sunday each month, antiques hawkers and bargain hunters gather to haggle at the Rose Bowl Flea Market.

For business travelers, downtown Pasadena is compact and walkable. If you’re here on vacation, Pasadena makes a less-frazzled base for exploring Los Angeles – Hollywood and Downtown LA are each less than 30 minutes away by car, without any traffic jams.
