"Very solid hotel!"
Really enjoyed the hotel. Had ocean view room on the very west side of building - nice view esp from shower - but the rooms face north and south so keep that in mind as its not a full frontal. Rooms very nice - very good bathroom. Great roof top restaurant and bar w spectacular views and a good scene at night. Location superb. One block from beach zone - one block from promenade. Gym is very weak. Bare minimum. Staff were generally good - front desk okay, valets were great, housekeepers great. Concierge okay. Need to rent bikes - not complimentary. Value was as good as you will get for the area.

"Beautiful hotel in an ideal location!"
This is a beautiful hotel! We stayed 5 nights in August in a partial sea view room. The lobby area smells wonderful - what they use to make it smell that good I don't know! The rooms are lovely and spotlessly clean. I'm glad we paid extra for a partial sea view room as it was lovely to sit on the balcony in the sunshine. The hotel staff are friendly and always speak when you pass them. The pool area is lovely and there was always somewhere to sit. We only parked in the valet parking for the first night as we knew it was expensive. We parked the rest of our time in the public car park in front of the Doubletree Hotel nearby which was well under half the price. There are lots of lovely places to eat nearby. We returned to Cafe Crepe four times for breakfast because it was so nice there. Although this hotel isn't cheap, we all agreed it was worth it because it is such a perfect place in a perfect location! I cannot think of anything negative to say about it - it is just lovely!

"Beware of the Separate Bar Facility"
Only negative but very important aspect is that they have a separate outdoor bar facility that attracts a massive older college crowd. We had a beach view room and it was ruined by the fact all you could hear was the extremely loud bar ALL NIGHT and we were on the 5th floor. We put the TV on to fall asleep to in order the drown out the noise from the bar. It was really bad. Not what I expected for a 5 star hotel and the price I paid. I don't usually do reviews but it was really disturbing in the evening. Everything else was great. Perfect location, great staff and clean facilities. Unfortunately the noise aspect from the bar is a huge negative.

"Impeccably clean. Recently renovated. easy parking"
Very nice room. Impeccably clean. We will definitely stay again. It can be slightly noisy but just make sure your room does not abut the main road. There is no central air conditioning so if you are in hat weather the wall unit might bother some people. I am a finickly traveler and I would stay again. There is a Trader Joe's next door where you can get food and a microwave in the room. A nice French pattiserie is less than 100 meters away and a nice coffee shop. When we are in Santa Monica and not going to be at our room except to sleep I can't imagine a better place.

"Great location and clean hotel"
The hotel was great. The room was clean and a good size. The view of the pool and restaurant were fine and it didn't get noisy in the evenings. The staff was great, especially the doormen. The location was very close to the beach, the Santa Monica Pier, and the Third Street Prominade. We didn't eat at the hotel because it was pricey. There was free coffee and tea in the lobby in the morning. Our reservation said something about free pastries in the morning, but we never saw anything. We found a close bakery-style place a few blocks away (Joan's on Third) that had great croissants. The hotel pool area was small but well-maintained. Due to the weather being lower than we expected, there was not a crowd in the pool area. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would stay again if we were to return to Santa Monica.

    Explore Santa Monica

With brag-worthy oceanfront real estate, Santa Monica is where Los Angeles comes to play. Miles of beaches border this fashionable seaside city, while a few blocks inland you’ll find swanky shopping streets with cutting-edge creative restaurants and hip cocktail bars for refueling after a day of playing outside in the sun.

Family vacations are a cinch in Santa Monica. You could spend all afternoon on the pier, riding the solar-powered Ferris wheel at the amusement park and taking your kids to touch tide-pool critters inside the tiny aquarium. For a funkier atmosphere, Venice lazes just south. There, an arty, alternative crowd hangs out on Abbott Kinney Boulevard, while eccentrics pack the beach boardwalk.

From Santa Monica, it’s easy to day trip anywhere across LA – strut down the Hollywood Walk of Fame, see real stars at the Griffith Observatory, be awed by artistic masterpieces at the Getty Center museum or cruise up the coast to Malibu. Whatever your California dreams are made of, make them come true here.
