We arrived in Victoria after a flight from Toronto with flight delays and delayed luggage. I was hoping for a smooth experience at Hotel Grand Victoria once we arrived. From the moment we arrived, starting with the door man, our expectations were exceeded. Being in a grumpy mood from the horrible experience, the pleasant welcome help with the car doors offer to take our luggage which was not there, made me feel relaxed. We also upgraded to the Valet Parking for the extra $7 a day, getting into a warm car was worth it. Car was always there when requested. I can't imagine a check in going any smoother than ours and we were given a room upgrade just make it even better. Our room # 839 was clean, White sheets and comforter on a King size bed. The furnishing are a bit date however in good condition and comfortable. Incredible views from this room. Or stay was only 4 days and we enjoyed every minute of this very nice hotel. We have stayed at other hotels in Victoria and this is at the top.

Convenient, well-managed and operated, comfortable hotel with large, clean rooms. Appreciated competent, friendly service delivered by local Indigenous staff and extra dimension added by Aboriginal ambience created by architecture, artwork, music, etc.

My husband & I stayed in a 1 bedroom appartment, which provided us with everything one could wish for, plus some: super comfy bed, spacious bathroom with infloor heating (!) & decent shower head with excellent water pressure, gas stove, dishwasher, lots of light due to the oversized & plentiful windows! Oh & a washer & dryer, which really comes in handy during storm watching season. We smoke... and while we were not allowed to smoke on our patio (which is fair enough) there is a COVERED beachfront smoking area! Nice feature, especially during the 'wet-season' - we have stayed at places without such convenience before & it was awful. Bad enough we smoke... (I know) but being treated poorly on top of it doesn't help.... obviously, as we still engage in this habit.

We came to Ucluelet for the hikes and watching the Pacific Ocean waves, wind & sun. We got 3 hours of the sun, very little waves, and no wind. The Lighthouse hike is spectacular. Don't miss it! The hotel is above average, and a very pleasant place to stay and close to everything - quiet, with beautiful views of the harbour, the Inlet from our patio. Lots of restaurants nearby, but our favourite was the Black Rock Restaurant perched right over the ocean cliffs.
