"Bang for buck"
This is not the cleanest, the most convenient, or the nicest appointed place you could stay in. But it's economical, nice enough, and centrally located (enough) that what they charge is more than worth it. This is a place you get your money's worth ... and more from. So I recommend on that basis. If you're looking for The Hilton, then ... keep looking. If you're looking for a place that can put you up for cheap ... here are the rooms for you. As an added bonus, there are a couple of decent restaurants and a 7-11 within walking distance. So stay here if those are your aspirations. I really enjoyed my stay with the friendly and supportive staff. Doughnuts and muffins for (free!) breakfast is a plus, too.

"Renovated Motor Inn"
A tidy mid-sized Motor Inn on Kingsway in Central South Burnaby. Recent exterior renovations and landscaping are well done and parking is good. Room interior is clean and presentable however is slightly dated. Bathroom in our Queensized bed suite was on the small size with a toilet and bathtub - shower, with counter and sink located in the main room. Traffic noise was non-existent in our ground floor room at the rear of the complex. Complimentary breakfast is very basic cafeteria style fair.

"Good hotel for the price "
The hotel is OK, a little rundown, paint chips, but if grout stains in the bathroom, but ok for the price, the bed was OK, the pool was outside so in 3 degree Celsius weather seemed a bit odd

"Nice hotel for the rate"
We were able to get a good rate through Expedia for this hotel, which is conveniently located to Metrotown mall and close to other venues. There were some housekeeping issues we brought to the staff's attention. Nothing major, just a slight lack of cleanliness. We would stay there again if we return to Vancouver. Unfortunately, our experience in Vancouver was not as good - we decided it's not a very friendly city. We spent the weekend dodging cars, fighting crowds of disrespectful people, and our car was broken into at a downtown lot located right next to a busy street one afternoon. From the sounds of it, this is a pretty typical day there.

"Nice business hotel"
Great staff, clean and we'll run. Not much in the way of actual amenities unless you count the casino. Very generic rooms. Good location for access to highways and industrial areas of burnaby and BCIT

"Everything I Needed"
I booked three nights at the 401 while I was waiting to take possession of my apartment. I chose it for three reasons: the price, the location (close to my job), and the fact that it's pet-friendly. I was concerned that the room would be run-down or dirty, since it was such a good deal. This was not the case at all! It was basic, yes. It was older, yes. But it was very clean and well-kept. I had to look under the bed to find my cat a couple of times and the floor was spotless; the cleaning staff obviously do their jobs. The bed itself was comfortable, the furnishings were tasteful, and the room was everything I needed - complete with a mini-fridge and microwave, a desk with a nice chair, and a standard bathroom. It didn't have the "extras" that a bigger chain might provide, but that's precisely what I didn't want to pay for. There's coffee on downstairs all day, and the lady at the front desk was one of the nicest people I've encountered since I moved to the city. She's genuine and helpful, and she makes a point to call guests by name. By necessity, the location isn't the quietest (right beside Grandview Highway AND Boundary Road). However, it wasn't sketchy, either - which was the bigger concern for me. If you don't mind some traffic sounds, it's actually a delightfully convenient place to wake up and start your day in Vancouver. Plenty of off-street parking, too, in a secure, treed lot. I would absolutely recommend the 401 to anybody. Affordable, tidy, friendly, and safe.

Burnaby is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Burnaby, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Burnaby hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
