The hotel is set in two rows of traditional terraces houses either side of Grosvenor Street. The fitout of the hotel is a little dated but in good condition. My room was quiet and comfortable with good heating. It took about 20 minutes to walk to the top end of Princes Street. Would certainly stay again.

We took a taxi from the airport directly to this hotel (£21) and were welcomed by the reception staff who also offered to help us with our luggage. Check in was straightforward. The rooms we'd booked (City Rooms) were spacious with two large queen beds and warm, which is important since we went in December. The hotel provided courtesy toiletries (Elemis) and large fluffy towels, as well as tea/coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, and an ironing board/iron. We'd opted for board only which was fine as there are plenty of places to eat close by with a wide selection from coffee to a full meal. We can heartily recommend The White Hart which is directly opposite where the food was lovely and the service prompt and friendly. Just along from the hotel is a flight of steps - not for the faint-hearted - that lead directly to Edinburgh Castle or it's quite easily to walk on a slightly less taxing gradient to the Royal Mile. The hotel does boast a pool but disturbingly it's in the front window! We were slightly too body-conscious to make use of it although it was cold outside so probably wouldn't have anyway. There's a bar onsite where you can also have a warm drink. When we checked out the hotel was quite happy to store our luggage and when we returned to collect it they ordered us a taxi back to the airport.

Have stayed here many times and wasn't disappointed this time.
Very convenient place to stay especially for an early morning flight, even though situated a short distance from the airport terminals it is very quiet, especially in the rooms.
