We stayed at jury's inn edinburgh at the beginning of August while the fringe festival was on. We checked in late and the staff weren't overly welcoming. The room was fine, could do with a bit of a refresh but comfortable. The only thing that I would of expected was biscuits& hot chocolate with the room refreshments, there was tea& coffee but I have stayed in hotels that are half the price that always have this. A little Scottish shortbread would have been a nice touch. The location is brilliant though, up some stairs and your on Royal Mail. Close to Waverley station too. Really fab city and the fringe was brilliant. The staff never really said hi in passing, we were in the lift with a housekeeping staff member and not even a morning. But I would use again, I have stayed in better branches of jury's inn, Dublin for example was nicer. I would recommend for location alone. Thanks

Only gripe is that the room got stuffy overnight with a family room with four bodies in it (yes, even in Scotland!) and the air cooling system wasn't great. Other than that, it was excellent. Great facilities, great staff, great food.

"Needs some updating and training but good value:"
The rooms are dated and had a number of faults (loose headboards, black marks on floor on carpet and bathroom) but the beds were very comfy although they were two singles pushed together which often came apart. Reception staff were very polite however the staff in the breakfast bar struggled to understand my English so much so we received the wrong breakfast and were overcharged but when trying to raise the issue were unable to communicate our problem either.
It is a good hotel for the price we paid and a good central location, but could do with some minor improvements.
