Staff were great, very accommodating and friendly. Unfortunately the room I was given hadn't been made up from the previous guest. It was immediately resolved and I was given another room. All very well set out for my needs, good facilities, but with a couple of minor issues, such a the shower shelf close to coming out of the wall. Again the staff saved the day by not charging for breakfast after I mentioned that I was only moderately happy with the stay.

The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Royal Mole in the University area of the city. This meant it was nice and quiet at night which is great if you have kids. We did find the standard family room a tight squeeze with our 11 and 13 year olds - if staying more than 2 night's or in the colder months it would be worth paying extra for a larger room. The pool is small - more for a splash around than a swim and same with the gym size but it was quiet when we went so it wasn't a problem. The staff were very courteous and helpful and the breakfast was very good value.

All neat and tidy, but perhaps expensive for what it was. a typical city centre large hotel - staff polite but all a bit impersonal. Breakfast a "take it or leave it" buffet but no options eg poached eggs not on offer and fried eggs always unavailable - made do with scrambled eggs instead. Overall "mostly harmless!".
