"Nice hotel, but some of the detail wasn't great"
When I order a 'king' room, I don't expect a bed with 2 mattresses put together, meaning that on at least 2 occasions overnight I woke up having slipped between the mattresses. There was also a lot of dust in the room, visible on shelves etc, and it made me cough quite a bit. Television and hairdryer wouldn't work in the room either. However the bed itself was comfortable and the surroundings are elegant.

"Charming old hotel"
The Angel Hotel, is a beautiful charming old hotel, the reception area & entrance is elegant, the staff are friendly & efficient. The rooms could do with updating but in a loving way so as not to lose the character of the building. Basically you get what you pay for, but I must say it was very comfortable. The breakfast was first class. If you want emmaculate perfect rooms at extortionate prices then the 'Celtic Manor' is for you. (We are local to the area, living 35 miles from Cardiff, we stayed over for a wedding.) Not so good: It is not very disabled friendly, the care park at the rear of the building is quite a way from the main entrance. There is a disabled lift from the street, but it is quite a walk to that from the car park. The interior hotel lifts are very small, & the lady had difficulty getting her wheelchair in & out of it. Over all I would recommend the Angel Hotel for short stays at a reasonable price, you get what you pay for, & in the center of Cardiff City everything is within easy walking distance. You can shop till you drop in Cardiff's wonderful shops & Castle lover's & Rugby fan's would love it.!! Very Enjoyable.

"2 Night Shopping Trip in Cardiff"
Cardiff Central train station is literally around the corner and you can access the Hotel from its back entrance if coming from this direction. The Hotel does not have a grand entrance and the Reception is accessed via a small lift up to the 2nd Floor. The check in lady was nice enough and gave clear instructions to my room, internet access and check out time. Staff were always helpful. My room was 313 on the 3rd floor. You access it with a keyless fob - like a contactless card. My immediate impression of the room was of space and light, modern and minimalist. It is an old building so the windows are huge Victorian ones - beautiful! I had a large comfortable bed with crisp white linen, lovely big shower with complimentary soap, shampoo and shower gel. There is air con in the room which you can switch off and open the window instead if you prefer. There is a TV - I did not use this. There was tea/coffee. An iron, and ironing board and a hairdryer. Best of all for all you girls out there - there was a nice full length mirror. There was also a dressing table and ample storage - should you wish to unpack. I slept soundly for the 2 nights even though the location is bang in the centre of Cardiff. I did not eat here as it is only 3 star rated in terms of food safety and you are so close to a multitude of restaurants, there hardly seems any point! The shopping mall is huge and just so much choice and you are literally right in the centre of it. Highly recommend

Cardiff is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Cardiff, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Cardiff hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
