The room was small but clean. The reason for a 3 rating is the room is over priced. Very diappointed that the Spa was £19 extra for 2 hours, this should have been included as part of hotel amenities.

Very active part of the City; appeared to be in the thick of things during the Brighton Festival. Not the most comfortable or homely hotel. Perhaps a little too much style (hip, cool) over substance.

"Historic old hotel across from Brighton seafront"
Having stayed in The Old Ship hotel before, I knew what to expect and it's in a great location, within a few minutes walk into the centre of Brighton, near lots of restaurants, cafes and bars. Right across the road from the seafront and a stroll away from the famous Brighton Pier. Don't expect luxury, it's a basic, old historic hotel, but with a very good cocktail bar and small guest gym. There is no spa or swimming pool and rooms are rather dated, basic accomodation, but quite comfortable. This is the oldest hotel in Brighton and has lots of interesting history, so may be of interest to those who would rather stay in a landmark than a more modern, trendy place. I always find the best room rates here, which is often difficult for other hotels near the seafront which I find are too expensive. I usually stay here when in Brighton for the convenient location and choose a high floor as it can get noisy outside, especially at weekends, as Brighton is busy. The hotel is within walking distance of the train station and all the town centre shops. I've never eaten in the hotel restaurant, but breakfast is about £13 or £14 if not included room rate, so I recommend local cafes which serve a cheaper option. I'll definitely be staying here again, good value and friendly staff. I was even offered a free drink in the bar voucher, which was a nice touch.

"Amazing location and what a wonderful city!"
Amazing staff at the restaurant and ex sailor greeted us and provided our girls with gifts! Check in was fast and our room was spacious even by North American standards. We had a blast exploring and playing on the Pier. We so hope to get back to Brighton some day! The included breakfast was so delicious and the staff were very attentive. The views from our room and the breakfast were breathtaking.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was a very nice surprise, nicely remodeled. The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions about what to do and where to go in town.

"Hotel in a good position"
The main problem was parking. The loading bay was always full of cars and vans. Parking is very expensive in Brighton generally. Hotel was very convenient to the centre and the lanes.

"Perfect for a Brighton visit"
The location is unbeatable, and the proprietors are super friendly in a low key way. The breakfast (much of it homemade) is tasty and substantial enough to last you until dinnertime should you choose.

"Great Hotel in Brighton"
Britannia Study Hotel is very well situated, very quiet. The room is comfortable an the bathroom very nice and practical. Breakfast is very good, the breakfast room is clean and comfortable. The stuff is so friendly and helpful. Thanks to them. The room was not perfectly clean (hair in the bed/sheets and on the floor + mugs for tea and coffee were not clean). That is the only bad thing we can tell about Britannia Study Hotel. We recommend this place.

"Comfortable convenient hotel near centre"
This hotel is very convenient for central Brighton and is a very short walk from the front (50 yards). The room was a good size, light and airy with decent ensuite and a very comfortable bed. The decor was interesting, being a consistent Art Deco style throughout - the dining room was a sight to behold! Breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of choices - the only problem is the dining room won't hold all guests simultaneously so late risers may have to wait for a table. Room service seemed very good, with in-room provisions resupplied each day as needed.

Brighton is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Brighton, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Brighton hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
