My wife and I took two of our grandkids, ages 9 and 16, to see the museums in Chicago. I picked the Willows in the first place because of the ambience. It lived up to my expectations. This is a smaller hotel with that classic feel. It sits on a side street near Clark and Diversey Streets. The staff here is absolutely the friendliest I have ever encountered. The manager, Lejla, was fantastic. She gave great recommendations on restaurants, which bus to take to get to Wrigley Field, and was just an all around wonderful lady. The only downside, and this is small, is that as an older hotel there is no vent fan in the bathroom. While we were waiting for our UBER, the groundskeeper was cleaning up around the front of the building. We engaged him in conversation and he was friendly and offered up some tips on visiting Chicago. Would definitely stay here again.

"Nice vintage bldg. in a beautiful old neighborhood"
Room could've been warmer, main building heat not working, drafty windows, don't recommend staying there during colder times of the year, there was one little heater in the bedroom, not realy adequate. Call first to see if boiler has been fixed.

The staff make you feel very welcome and are very attentive to your needs. The valets were great, always made sure the auto was warm and the heated seats were on. We had a very spacious room, with a great view of the Chicago skyline. The room was well maintained and very clean. The only draw back is that it has a rain shower head and very soft water; I never felt like I was totally rinsed off, this is totally a personal issue. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Got there late and spent the night with my one sister and other sister's daughter (my niece). Next night spent was in a room with my two sisters. Third night was my own room because I snore loudly as I warned them. Had Trouble checking into my room because Essex's computer did not get the Expedia reservation. Some up and downs in the elevator and a phone call and the reception desk did some duplicating and got me into a a room.

Trendy Lincoln Park is home to boutiques, movie theaters, stores, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and clubs. The 1,200-acre park of the same name is also here, including the admission-free Lincoln Park Zoo within its grounds. St. Vincent de Paul and St. Josaphat’s ─ two architecturally significant Polish cathedrals ─ lend the neighborhood a touch of Old World charm.
