The hotel lobby was nice, but it’s vastly different from the quality of the rest of the hotel. The door knob for our bathroom door was essentially unscrewed, and the toilet never kept quiet (the toilet kept running water; similar to the noise it makes after flushing). And then we went to use the phone in the room, and it was disconnected from the cable and we had to plug it in. Unfortunately I would consider a different hotel if staying in the downtown area.

You get what you pay for

You get what you pay for. Location + Price relative to other downtown hotels make this a pretty good value. Pros: they let us check in early (12pm) and the room was reasonably clean Cons: you can hear everything in the hallway; the heat didn’t work (it was 50 degrees outside) and the blankets were thin; the hotel feels run down overall

Hotel is in a very good walkable spot right on Michigan Avenue and the staff is SUPER friendly and helpful! While the hotel does have chicago charm, the family suite we stayed in was not well maintained. The one bedroom door was unable to be shut, which meant we had to sleep with the door ajar. The handle to the bathroom door did not work and was not securely attached to the door. There were no batteries in the safe so we couldn’t use that, nor was the control panel on the air conditioning/fan unit in the one bedroom able to be opened easily to be turned on/off or to turn the heating on (which we couldn’t do so we were really chilly that night). For one night it’s perfect. For more than one night, there are other comfortable places for a littleeeee bit more money - I’d take that.

$65 parking in rear Ovr night if you leave you have to pay again wth! Just cross the street it's $40 for 24hrs come and go as you please. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone personally I feel its way over priced. No complimentary breakfast... Expect to pay for any & everything you get in there.... OVERRATED OLD NOSTALGIA. First room was way to small with yellowing through the white painted baseboards and trim (yuck) so I paid 85 more per night just to have a sofa and two chairs. The bathroom in ea. Unit was old and dated fixer uppers with slow draining tubs a weak shower pressures. I'm just good on this spot... Chose it to be close to the taste fest 2025 but would have done better to choose something more modern with better amenities and free parking and just drove over and parked in the lots available in the area for 30-40 for 8hrs. Just saying they have no pool, no Jacuzzi rooms, tvs are all small (not smart TV's) cable on one TV local channels only in the bed room, no complimentary breakfast ever! Stay away from these old hotels unless that's your thing. Especially if you have kids with you - they'll hate you for bringing them here.

The hotel service was extremely disappointing. After housekeeping, basic amenities were never replenished — no shower caps, no paper cups, no daily bottled water. I had to call and request every single item myself. Even worse, the front desk, operator, and housekeeping lines rarely answered; I had to dial more than three times each with no response. I had no choice but to go down to the front desk to complain, but the staff had a very poor attitude, brushing me off by saying, “We’re very busy, there are too many calls, it’s normal not to answer.” When I reported that the ice machine on the 7th floor was broken and there was no ice machine at all on the 8th floor, I asked if they could provide some ice. Instead, the front desk simply told me to try the 9th floor by myself. Overall, the service attitude is terrible and the management is chaotic. This hotel is absolutely not worth staying at — very disappointing.

The room was temperature controlled, which was awful. It was so hot. The room was stuffy and humid: The bed was terribly uncomfortable. The restaurant was closed and the bar food was completely overpriced and borderline uneditable. We ended up checking out after one night. This is not typical. I don’t typically write bad reviews, but this was the worst stay I’ve ever had
