This hotel is dated, but they have clean rooms and it’s centrally located on the loop. There are several dining options within walking distance. I took the train everywhere because the train station is relatively close to here.

Congress hotel will give you a beautiful view of the city. Very quiet and relaxing stay. It can get cold in the room, there is NO heater. I called front desk for a heater and they mentioned someone will bring one to our room. We NEVER got the heater so we stayed cold during our stay

Didn’t like that after coming in from a red eye, I couldn’t check in my room earlier and I was willing to pay whatever fee just so I could shower before my appointment in the morning. I ended up having to use the restroom to freshen up and change. Also, my hallway smelled like curry. My toilet sometimes wouldn’t stop running. Last, I did not know that the hotel is on the top haunted list laced in Chicago. The best part of the hotel was the nice bellman outside and how close the hotel was to everything I wanted to see.

Congress Plaza review was a great location to visit the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Millennium Park. We had a lake view which was absolutely beautiful The rooms were nice but aged, beds were fairly comfortable.

Affordable price and good for what you pay for. The room was clean for the most part, except for some small spots of leftover vomit in the tub the cleaning staff may have missed. The door to our room looked like a replacement door that was a bit too small for the door frame, so light would leak through the top and bottom of the door at night. Not a deal breaker but a little annoying if you like to sleep in complete darkness. Overall the room was decent and I would stay there again.
