Beautiful hotel with excellent facilities we throughly enjoyed our stay at Grand Hyatt Rio. The staff were willing to help you with anything and always had a smile on their faces. Would highly recommend this 5 star hotel to others looking for 5 star luxury in Rio de Janeiro.

This hotel is very new and rooms are nice with confortable beds. It's also quiet. Views are amazing and is just across the beach. Breakfast is good and has a range of options with real fruit juices. Staff is very friendly, however, reception and cleaning personnel seem understaffed. Corridors don't seem to get cleaned often and daily room cleaning is poor. Hotel restaurant is appalling and very expensive. Avoid eating there. Bar and pool service, on the other hand, are more reasonable. Umbrellas, chairs and beach towel are provided every day and the boys dealing with them are very nice. Beach towels are in excellent condition and cleanliness.

The hotel was beautiful, wonderful amenities, but what made my stay an outstanding experience was the staff. They catered to my every need, above and beyond what was expected. They made me feel like I was at home, and I was in a foreign country where a different language was spoken! They arranged my ground transportation, brought me ice packs when I hurt my knee. Cheered for my son's performance in the Paralympics. It was the best experience at a hotel I had ever had. Best Western's have always been my favorite places to stay, this one will always have a special place in my heart. I loved my time here (11 nights).

Pocket Guide: Rio de Janeiro Barra da Tijuca Hotels
Once a desolate sandbank, Barra da Tijuca has become one of Rio’s fastest growing locales. Here, clear-green waters lap along Rio’s longest beach, which stretches for about 11 miles. Barraca do Pepê (Pepê’s Shack) is popular among surfers. Barra da Tijuca has a few large shopping centers, including the American-themed New York City Center that is a bite of the Big Apple in the Marvelous City.
