"Very nice hotel in a convenient location"
We had a very nice stay at the hotel. The only problem was a constant humming noise produced form what I guess are mechanical services located outside. I was tired on the night of our stay so the noise didn't prevent me from sleeping however the noise is quite discernible in an otherwise quiet environment, despite the windows being fitted with secondary glazing.

"Weekend break"
Clean and comfortable, but how this hotel retains 4 * is questionable. Basic facilities with very high prices for food drink etc. Staff could not have been nicer though, very professional and courteous at all times. A bit of a tired building from the early 80's

"Nice hotel near the zoo. staff excellent."
Room comfortable and clean. Unfortunately only one lounge area near bar and children from wedding reception took over. Children running along corridors from 4 in the morning no supervision. Dangerously slippery around the pool where floor very wet. Carpets in dining room not fixed down so dangerous. Staff brilliant. It's a shame about the other stuff. When having a function the space is big enough for all to remain in that area and let the other guests enjoy the bar lounge.

"Large hotel in country location"
I selected this hotel because it has Tesla Superchargers. It was a pleasant modern hotel with excellent food. The hotel was clean and comfortable but spread out over a huge area. This meant there was a long (and I mean 'long') walk to the rooms. Signposting was small and bad and guests were milling about lost. If you are elderly and/or have heavy luggage this is not the hotel for you. The car park was also a long walk - ok if it wasn't raining! The hotel was used mainly by business groups and for commercial events/meetings.

"Central Basingstoke Hotel"
My experience with the hotel was great from arrival the staff were friendly and helpful. I found my room to be dated however and there was a lot of mould up the walls of the corridor leading to the room. The breakfast was nice good selection although ran out of certain items. I didn't use the leisure facilities. This hotel was more of a 3* to me. Only achieved that 4* because of the pool and the size I imagine.

    Pocket Guide: Winchester Winchester Hotels

The ancient capital of England, and once the seat of King Alfred, historic Winchester is famous for its magnificent cathedral begun in 1079, and venerable Winchester College founded in 1382. The picturesque area around the Cathedral Green has changed little over the centuries, and offers good places to eat, drink and shop. A short walk across the water meadows, the 12th-century Hospital of St Cross is England’s most perfectly preserved almshouse.
