Me & my wife stopped over for 1 night on the way to Southampton for our Cruise, lovely place to stay, very warm conditions but the Air Con in our room was very poor struggled to sleep. Went for something to eat in the bar but had no Fish & Chips left & didn't fancy anything else on the menu so jumped in the car travelled 3 miles to a local pub The Swan had a fantastic meal 10 out of 10

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good size and comfortable. There is no air conditioning and I only found the fan as I was leaving. I didn't like being given a room with an accessible bathroom as it becomes a pool after a shower. The food in the bar was very poor - I didn't know you could make a cheeseburger so tasteless. The coleslaw was just mayo, cabbage and carrot, also tasteless. Chips were good.

Expensive for such low quality

My bathroom was dirty, shower door was a nightmare to open, shower head clasp didn’t work meaning trying to shower and rinse my hair was an issue. No air con and was not advised in this prior to check in. Pool area dirty and pool is packed with kids until 6pm so not ideal. It’s just an unpleasant environment generally not a relaxing spa! In the bar I Waited 45 mins for a sandwich and they were not busy! In the evening the Restaurant was so hot it was impossible to say too long so we ate just a main meal. At 10pm I went to reception to discuss my room’s issues. When I spoke to a male member of staff about my bathroom he was rude, unhelpful and defensive. The staff generally need training in customer service most of which was pretty appalling. It’s such a shame as it has the potential to be a nice hotel but clearly they need to tighten their cleaning procedures and room checks the stay was sub par. I stay in a lot of hotels and for £176 this was overpriced and not what I was expecting. To be spoken to like I was piece of dirt is unacceptable and frankly being nice costs nothing! I was not asking for refund merely informing of the problem so the next guest didn’t experience what I did.

Overall a good hotel, it was smart and clean with great grounds and facilities . The only slight disappointment was the prices and quality of the food! A chicken Caesar salad at £20.50 you would have expected a little more than a small amount of salad with a fairly tasteless dressing, around 5 small croutons and a dry, barely warm piece of charred chicken breast. The breakfast was also a bit of a shambles as not one of the staff really looked after the hot buffet. The buffet ran out as soon as it hit the hot plate, so you then had to find a member of the service team to see if they could get some more food out . The hotel in our eyes could be much better if there was just an eye for detail in the service and food quality as it was a wonderful experience other than this.

A pleasant stay in the country. Friendly polite staff. On site restaurant which was just ok. I think the volume of people affected the quality of the food and service. Small spa area, whuch was ok.

Ok for a quick stop over

Norton as a hotel was fine, bit lacking in care with the breakfast outdoor seating area. Room we had was quiet and plenty of room. But they ran out of water for the rooms on the second night. Breakfast on the second morning being bank holiday weekend was a sham. Coffee machines dishing out very weak coffee and that was the ones working, ran out of yogurt, pastries, glasses and mugs. Let alone the sporadic hot food coming out and quite a que forming!! we walked into breakfast and no clear tables to sit at, a lot hadn't been cleared. so sat outside. no sight of a manager to help their staff out in the hotel!!!

Arrived early,we were told it would be £25to check in before 3pm.As we looked like nice ladies that would be waivered. Room was ready. Room189. Felt extremely cold, windows were slightly open as room smelt slightly musty. Started to unpack and noticed how dusty the room was. On the glass surfaces you were able to write your name in the dust. Also along the bed head wiping with your finger you could create a small pile of dust! The upturned water glasses had a layer of dust on them. The glass shelves in the bathroom were also covered with obvious dust. We mentioned this and were offered the room opposite which was also extremely dusty so we remained in room 189. We were told that these rooms were used regularly which I dispute. Would think it had not been used for a few weeks. The beds were comfortable. The ladies toilet , near the the bar , had no hand towels in it for the whole time we stayed at the hotel! I booked our room on 5th march 2025. I was meeting a friend of 55 years and looking forward to meeting up for a couple of days. May 19th to May 21st We spoke to the Manager who offered us a complimentary drink at the bar for the inconvenience! Our get together was tarnished by this incident!
