"Stylish hotel very cool decor"
This hotel is currently being upgraded to a decidedly modern hotel with very comfortable rooms. The colour scheme and room decor is certainly very art noveau and pleasing to the eye. We had an upgraded room very comfortable and the facilities and room extras are excellent, would recommend a stay here very central and good access from station. Breakfast excellent and worth the extra £2 to upgrade from continental (included) to the full breakfast choice.

"Lovely location. Friendly staff. Poor recovery. "
Amazing mansion in the grounds of popular golf club, ideal setting for the wedding celebration that was taking place. Crazy golf was a big attraction for the children, however this was need of maintenance. Also lift not working, and bathroom door rubbed on the door. Main challenge was the room suggested by Expedia for my son and I, (single room with the mention of pull out bed) was not possible, and so staff kindly upgraded me. The staff tried hard however communication was a problem, poor language/organisation skills led to 2 room changes, 3 unnecessary trips to reception and my son finally getting to sleep at 10pm, 1.5 hours late! They did send me up a plate of fruit salad as an apology. Hopefully this won't happen next time.!

"Hotel of good repute"
We booked the French Horn for one night in order to see a play at The Mill with a group of friends from Amersham. We actually stayed at the French Horn about thirty years ago and were interested to see how it had aged - not well unfortunately. It is very well run, exceedingly clean and the staff are "spot on" but it has NOT moved with the times. We have stayed at very good hotels all over the world and in this country too but for us the decor and furnishings are rather dated and slightly drab. We were put into one of the dear little cottages over the road but - oh dear! How dated and slightly drab again. The bed was lovely and comfortable but blankets instead of a duvet - in this day and age! Lovely spacious bathroom but again, probably "done" in the nineties. Another thing we missed was having tea/coffee making facilities which is the norm these days we would have thought. Come on owners, your restaurant gets rave reviews and even the Clooneys love it so why not do a bit of a make-over? Or perhaps it's just us!

"City centre apart- hotel"
Brilliant. Stayed here while my husband was in Royal Berks Hospital for a shoulder replacement . Surgery went well but due to complications with his other health issues, my expected 3 day stay became 11. I stayed in apartment 502, on the fifth floor [de luxe studio]. So quiet, great view towards the abbey, Forbury Gardens, the Shard & 5 minutes to the Oracle shopping centre. 15 minutes walk to the hospital, far quicker than using taxis or buses with the horrendous traffic, 10 minute walk to railway station. The apartment was my oasis a the end of many stressful hours at the hospital. Extremely light; airy; well furnished; very well equipped for those who want to self cater & spotlessly clean. Both washing machine & dishwasher were well used. Welcome starter packs for a basic breakfast & washing powders very useful Both the staff at head office & the apartments could not have been more welcoming, kind & helpful. Could not recommend more highly to young & old alike, for business or pleasure.

"Great facilities good location "
I had a good time at this hotel, staff where fantastic and the room was clean and nice goodies the only issue is that I was facing the main road it was hard to sleep and the show was really cold but other than that it was a pleasing stay and reasonable priced. Doesn't have its own car park but it is 2 min for q park the multi story and that was perfectly fine with me I would definitely stay here again

Reading is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Reading, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Reading hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
