"Good central location but..."
Location was great and facilities good but the room itself could/should have been better, especially for the price. Poor TV channel selection was missing many free-to-air channels which made little sense. Had to guess how to use the phone as it was missing a template that should have been on the phone. We were able to park on site but if you don't get there at the right time you have to park in a nearby NCP. Rates are subsidised but it's still away from the hotel so not the best.

Amazing!! Beautiful room in a lovely setting. Staff where very accomadating and professional. The restaurant we had a great start to the meal, I would highly recommend the goats cheese salad the peacan nuts where perfect a well balanced dish every component was perfect unfortunately that's where it ended, my fillet steak was over cooked I asked for medium rare it came medium well garlic mash under seasoned spinach to salty and was the jus and the chocolate dessert was ok but to much going on the while thing was bland it looks like mains and dessert the presentation was more important then the flavour and marriage of food. But that said it was far from terrible but I just expected more as the starter was perfect in everyway as was everything else in the hotel. Will definitely go back!!

"City centre apart- hotel"
Brilliant. Stayed here while my husband was in Royal Berks Hospital for a shoulder replacement . Surgery went well but due to complications with his other health issues, my expected 3 day stay became 11. I stayed in apartment 502, on the fifth floor [de luxe studio]. So quiet, great view towards the abbey, Forbury Gardens, the Shard & 5 minutes to the Oracle shopping centre. 15 minutes walk to the hospital, far quicker than using taxis or buses with the horrendous traffic, 10 minute walk to railway station. The apartment was my oasis a the end of many stressful hours at the hospital. Extremely light; airy; well furnished; very well equipped for those who want to self cater & spotlessly clean. Both washing machine & dishwasher were well used. Welcome starter packs for a basic breakfast & washing powders very useful Both the staff at head office & the apartments could not have been more welcoming, kind & helpful. Could not recommend more highly to young & old alike, for business or pleasure.

"Good value hotel close to Reading University "
The decor could do with some updating but our room was very nice with fridge, sink and microwave in addition to all the usual amenities. Breakfast was tasty, if a little greasy, and staff were very helpful when we had a problem with our rom key-card. Very clean, lovely shower, comfy mattress. Only niggle was that the bed in the particular room we had was against the wall. We would definitely stay again.

"Right in centre of town."
Apart from the rapid-fire speaking Eastern European guy on reception who rattled off words so fast I couldn;t keep up, the hotel certainly provided what I needed - a room for the night in the centre of town. The room was moder and clean, although when taking a shower I leant against the wall and it moved as it seemed to be plastic like some sort of TV scenery!

"Great Location Right on the Lake"
Although the drive was somewhat windy, and through the countryside, they have an idyllic location, right on the lake. A beautiful spot to wake-up in the morning, as it is very tranquil. Lovely to sit and watch the water birds whilst you eat your breakfast. The hotel is well established and has been there for a longtime. However this means it is now time for a renovation, new carpets, soft furnishings and wallpaper are needed, along with general re-tiling to bathrooms etc. Very clean and tidy, and staff were pleasant.

Reading is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Reading, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Reading hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
