"boutique hotel close to tourist attractions"
We would recommend this hotel for downtown Toronto. It has the feel of a small friendly hotel. We were able to walk to see the top tourist attractions. The rooms are bright and clean. The sitting areas is very comfortable for relaxation. Although we had a kitchen area, there were no cooking dishes or kettle. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is secure parking for a car ( pay extra). We had a nice meal and met friendly staff at the Fireside Restaurant next door. We enjoyed our stay.

Great stay. Staff were wonderful and extremely thoughtful. We were going to see the Book of Mormon and the staff sent up a note with a bowl of truffled popcorn to enjoy before the show. Amazing:) The only downfall was the hottub was not working and had black stuff coming out of the jets. They really needed a sign on it to say do not go in because when I went to tell the spa about it, they said it had been like that for a while.

"Bad experience with otherwise good hotel"
I have stayed at the Hotel Victoria on several occasions. It is a good, not great, clean hotel in a great location. On my last visit my check-in was very unpleasant. I arrived late, 11pm, with my eleven year old daughter where we found the man at the front desk had the demeanour of a night guard as opposed to a professional in the hospitality industry. He was curt and discourteous although not vulgar or rude. There was no "welcome", no "hello" and certainly no please or thank you. I rarely take the time to write a review but it was a very disappointing experience.

"Great location and hotel!"
We had a fabulous one night stay here. Everything was perfect. We got upgraded to a one bedroom suite and it was wonderful. The ceiling height was beautiful and we had a great view. The room was immaculate and was furnished in very high end, modern furnishings. The King bed was to die for and the bedding was of very high quality. I checked out the health club and enjoyed the resistance pool, hot tub and sauna. The front desk staff were amazing. I felt they couldn't have been more attentive and helpful. We are already planning our return visit!!

"Great hotel, not great spa"
The hotel itself is stunning. The lobby is large and luxurious and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately, our room was not available upon time of check in, and nothing was offered to us while we waited. The hotel room was beautiful. It was large and comfortable. The shower is not great, as it's difficult to start the shower without soaking the bathroom and yourself in the process. We also booked at the spa, which isn't really a spa. There are no hit tubs or pools, but really just a place to get your nails done and a clinical massage. The spa was disappointing.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
