"Relaxing couples getaway"
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at "Pacifica". The staff are incredible and are what sets the place apart. We did all inclusive and found the food to be above average and the drinks excellent. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed and even a pillow menu. The only (minor) issue we had was with construction noise at the south end of the property but not a deal breaker. Overall, we really loved coming back to this peaceful, beautiful place (and the aromatherapy that is prevalent throughout) after our nights in town. Would return in a heartbeat.

"This hotel is absolutely beautiful"
First of all - I'd never book on Expedia again. While the ad clearly stated in multiple places that I could cancel without any problem, the fine print apparently said that the hotel might have a different policy. This hotel does during Thanksgiving - they charge you in full. That was a potential problem when Aeromexico suddenly changed the date of our flights. Luckily, the hotel worked with me and I was able to adjust our dates. But I would not have been able to cancel. Will NEVER use Expedia for ANYTHING EVER AGAIN. Now for the hotel itself: Beautiful. I was blown away. So well maintained and landscaped - it's lush and amazing. What a fantastic setting, it's not huge but it's a good size hotel with about 5 pools right on the beach. Not tacky modern or standard pools, they're very natural and surrounded by plants. It wasn't very crowded when we were there, either. Plenty of towels - and you don't have to check them out. I also like that we weren't required to wear wristbands. I'd read that the food is overpriced and bad - so we ate in our room or elsewhere. There is a very nice shop in the hotel, however, that has a very good selection if you're planning to cook. Huge room, lots of detail, giant patio. Kitchen, living area, enormous bathroom. We had a little pressure for the time share presentation at check-in - but we were polite and firm and walked away. Never had pressure for anything else the entire stay.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
