2nd time at this hotel. We are frequent travelers to mexican resorts and try to go twice a year. We were at this resort in 2019 and liked it enough to come back. Views are amazing and walkable to the marina. Ocean was too strong to swim in this time of year (late april). But a quick walk toward the marina and it gets calmer and more swim friendly. Food is typical riu which is great for us. The only negative is the entertainment staff. They really need some further training. They forget they arent the ones on vacation. Multiple times i observed them not allowing guests to participate in activities since members of their staff were wanting to participate. They turned away guests from pool basketball and beach volleyball. It got to the point that i spoke up about it and they got snarky. For example they would have up to 5 staff playing beach volleyball and there would be 4-5 guests asking to play and get denied since there is no more space. Those guests would have to either go find more guests to make a complete team or wait for some other guests to give up their spots. Ive never seen this in all my travels at other resorts including the previous time i was here. Usually the staff would get the activities started and soon as people would trickle in the staff would gove them their spots so more guests were involved and not rejected. It was only a problem with the entertainment team. The rest of the staff from servers to room cleaners were great.

Loved our stay at the Riu Adults Only - would come back! You have access to the pools at Santa Fe and the Palace if you wish. The 5 restaurants are all great and you can dine at them as much as you like. The hotel is very clean and rooms are lovely. The staff are really friendly and outgoing. There is RIU parties however they are held at the Santa Fe hotel which we enjoyed as we were not interested. It’s fairly quiet and relaxed atmosphere. We would definitely come back!

This was a vacation I totally needed! RIU staff @ the Hotel RIU Palace Baja California are one of a kind, super friendly, and know how to treat their guests, they make sure that guests are having a great time during their stay! The entertainment is the best, super friendly, and just great vibes!! Shout out to José, Mickey, and Janelle (I think that’s the water exercise instructor) sorry if I got your name wrong! And Alex, and there were others but haven’t caught their names, but amazing people! These guys can all dance haha, and it’s quite impressive; love all their moves! I will be back again, I hope the same guys are still around when I do return! Thank you for making my stay a memorable one!

I just got back from an incredible stay at the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas and I honestly can’t say enough good things about it. From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth and welcoming. The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful — the grounds are immaculate and the view of the ocean is just stunning. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a great balcony where we spent a lot of time just soaking it all in. Housekeeping did a great job every day and made sure we always had fresh towels and a stocked mini-bar. Food was definitely a highlight! The buffet had tons of variety and everything we tried was fresh and tasty. We also ate at a few of the specialty restaurants and really enjoyed the Italian and steakhouse. The service everywhere was top-notch — the staff really go out of their way to make sure you're happy. The pools were a lot of fun, and we loved the swim-up bar. There was always a good mix of people relaxing and having fun without it ever feeling overcrowded. And the beach… even though you can’t swim due to the strong waves, it’s so beautiful and peaceful — perfect for morning walks or just hanging out with a drink and watching the sunset. What really stood out, though, was the vibe — just super relaxed and friendly. The entertainment team had great energy, and everyone working there was genuinely kind and helpful. Overall, it was one of the best vacations I’ve had in a long time.

The only downside I would say is the food. It’s not bad. The specialty restaurants just aren’t that great. But I’m happy they had actual Mexican food in their buffet. Breakfast was my favorite. The staff are amazing. Such hardworking people who are always there to assist. Our room was always cleaned and they always gave us extra towels, food, etc. without asking. They are constantly cleaning the facilities day and night. It was Prestine.

I was locked out of my room at 10:30 at night because I purchased a bottle of wine at dinner. Because there was a balance on my room number the hotel chose to lock the room until I went down to pay the bill. There is a better way to handle this.
