For most travelers, Anaheim means Disney. Over 16 million people – including honeymooners, groups of adult friends, and families with kids, teens and grandparents in tow – stream through the gates of Disneyland each year. Next door, Walt Disney’s original “Magic Kingdom” has been joined by the thrill rides and movie character parades of Disney California Adventure.
But there’s more to the area. Knott’s Berry Farm – with its speed-crazed roller coasters and summertime waterpark – is a short drive away. For educational family fun, drop by the interactive Discovery Science Center and art-filled Kidseum in Santa Ana, just a few miles from Disneyland.
Tired of theme parks and museums? Catch an Angels baseball or Ducks hockey game, or dine and shop in Anaheim’s revitalized Packing District. Conventions bring plenty of business traffic to Anaheim, too. After dark, Downtown Disney and Anaheim Garden Walk, the two biggest shopping, restaurant and nightlife complexes close to Disneyland, keep all-ages crowds entertained. For a less commercial experience, detour to charmingly retro Old Towne Orange nearby.
