Check in was clean; was able to check us into a room far away from the noise of two simultaneous wedding receptions. Even with windows open, couldn't hear much. Well maintained. Breakfast included in cost of the room - which made it a great value, but breakfast buffet wasn't worth what would otherwise be charged. Small quirk, ordered a bottle of "Flying Dog" from the bar, bartender was rough in uncapping then slapping the bottom of the bottle on the bar. While I did appreciate the "It really is flying dog!" joke, I didn't like 1/3 of my beer running onto the mats and the remaining 2/3 without carbonation - and not being offered a replacement.

A most enjoyable independent alternative from the bland and impersonal hotel chains. Not only excellent value for money but an interesting building within pleasant grounds with safe on-site parking. The opportunity for optional breakfast is another good feature.

Staff welcoming, and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked. We had to change rooms as we added another day to our stay and the staff moved our packed bags for us, while we were out enjoying ourselves. So they were in the new rooms when we returned after a day out.

Stayed here for two nights.
The staff were all very friendly and efficient, the bar food and breakfasts were very good.
Only let down was that the swimming pool was too hot making it uncomfortable to swim. However, when we mentioned it on check out, we were informed that there was a problem and that they were awaiting an engineer.

A very pleasant experience in a historic, quaint farmhouse with a wonderful history which the owner is happy to inform you of. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom amenities were good with a hot shower. Very reasonably priced and a good breakfast overlooking the garden. And to top it off it has attached to it one of the best indian restaurants in the area which is also incredibly reasonably priced.
