Positives. Staff were all superb. Parking was good. Hotel architecture is wonderful if you like art deco. The room was nice and clean. Negatives. Air conditioning throughout the hotel isn’t working. Rooms were all above 25c all night. No espresso based coffees available. Bean to cup “still not working” and no one available to make coffees from the bar. Coffee available was terrible. The whole hotel is in need of an overhaul. Everything seems tired. Carpets in room were threadbare in places. Might be wrong but all looks very 1990s.

Lovely apartment, great staff who fixed a hot water issue within 15 mins of reporting. They also checked in with us once again in the morning to make sure all was fine. Can be noisy at night hearing people move around their apartments as there are 4 floors. But not really anyway around that so it’s no one’s fault. Good location with an NCP carpark accross the road.

First time staying here. It is clear the hotel is undergoing major upgrading and there is information in the rooms to reflect that. Would be helpful to have that on the website too (sorry if already there and missed) just to manage expectations. Room was lovely and staff very friendly and bent over backwards (special shoutout to Ruby). I understand why £100 deposit is being taken but do think this will be putting a lot of families off staying esp when there are so many competing hotels nearby. Overall though a lovely stay in a great area and fab sights. Really hope they do manage to continue the upgrade as such a special building.

We stayed on a Sunday night. Parking fills up which is a problem for people with reduced mobility. Check in was fine and the staff were polite. The room was tired and fittings in the bathroom were rusted but generally fine. Unfortunately sleep was troublesome. If you're anywhere near the kitchen, the loud fans are on all night. The door between the restaurant area and kitchen creaks loudly and this is a huge problem. Staff seem to use it until midnight and then they start again at 5am. In the morning, breakfast was fine and the staff were helpful. Unfortunately only one out of two lifts worked. These lifts are tiny and we had a wheelchair. That meant the lift going up and down several times with people in it, we just had to wait and hope that next time it would be empty. I raised this with the reception staff in the morning, my details were taken and I was told I would be contacted to about this. I have heard nothing a week on.

Room was fine. But the no staffing is definitely an issue. A 3rd party to send us the info to get into the building is definitely challenging when you are from another country since you have you call someone to get this info. That being said after the phone call took a few minutes for them to send an email with the codes. Does get a little noisy the building next store often has singing/preying around 11-1amish but some ear plugs work fine all and all good location for the price

Generally very good user experience; hotel, room, cleanliness, gym, spa, breakfast and staff.

Very old, tired, building that is definitely not a 4*
