Shepton Mallet Vacation Packages

Arrived at this beautiful hotel and greeted by Anna one of the brilliant members of staff and as we were early we enjoyed a drink and a lovely meal before being shown to our room. The whole place has a pleasant warming atmosphere and wonderful choice of drinks and superb food. Service is excellent and everyone is so happy. We came to Chepstow to visit the castle and stayed one night here. Never stopped raining for a minute so we decided to enjoy the food and drink on offer and were not disappointed. You could watch the football od sit at the bar, however we decided to sit in a cosy room where I had chilli and my good lady had jacket potato. Food here is excellent and we did go for a wonder through town. Chepstow has a lot of restaurants and pubs??? They were all great but we definitely hit the jackpot in the Beaufort hotel. The room was just what we wanted and the hotel is not new, it’s a wonderful place full of characters and charm. Don’t come with expectations just arrive and let the place envelop you and you will have a great time just as we have. Thank you to all the team especially Anna and see you all soon we will return

Upon arrival the room was relatively clean and straightened out nicely. Decorated to an OK standard. However, the room itself was absolutely sweltering and could've done with a fan or a portable air conditioning unit. I had to open both the windows wide to let some cool air in.....which unfortunately let the screaming and shouting from outside in too. But hey, I've booked something in the heart of student land so that's sort of on me as well! As far as cleanliness goes....look a little closer you'll see things aren't so great and definitely lacks attention to detail in that are. Not the worst but certainly not the best. It looks like shower gel, handwash and shampoo were provided once upon a time but now all that remain are empty containers. This is such a basic thing so either do it or don't. Kitchenette area was reasonably clean with utensils, plates bowls and a dishwasher provided. Overall, it was OK but could do better. It seems like somebody has lost interest in it!

The room was beautiful, clean and spacious. Staff were super helpful and the location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Bristol.

Booked a deluxe room for 2 nights. Allocated a substandard room, needing refurbishment, tired with curtains hanging off poles, dark and dingy with broken tiles in the bathroom. Staff in denial initially, eventually moved into another much better standard of room. On our departure we had no hot water. Breakfast was a poor experience too with staff in addition not informing us that Breakfast started later on a Saturday. So no breakfast that day due to our departure time. However, we attended our Sister in law’s memorial gathering in the conservatory which was such a contrasting experience due to being in a lovely environment with views and access to the garden, over seen by an events organiser and staff dedicated to the occasion. On submitting my complaint it was handled badly with a delay to acknowledging it. As compensation we were offered 15% off either afternoon tea; use of the Spa or towards a further stay with no consideration that we live 300 miles away and certainly would not be travelling for a cup of tea or dip into the Spa.

Excellent getaway. Helpful staff and quiet clean place.

The building was in a great location. a nice quiet square, just 5 minutes from the start of all the bars and restaurants. The room itself was nothing like the pictures. It was one small room only which contained the shower and the sink. there was no wardrobe or cupboard to put clothes and shoes. There was a single rail attached to a roof beam which had 6 clothes hangers. The most alarming problem, was the fact that there was no toilet. This was located on the landing which needed a separate key to open. This is not ideal when you wake up during the night and its dark and you need to locate the key before you can use the toilet. The room we was allocated, but looked nothing like the pictures, was located at the top of the building. Apparently, it was on the 3rd floor. But to get there, you had to walk up 5 small staircases, 55 steps in total. When we arrived, i did complain about the room and we was offered a different one in the basement, as long as we had used nothing in the room. Unfortunately in the 2 hours between sending my complaint and receiving the reply, we had unpacked and showered, rendering the room used. For the money we paid, the minimum you expect is an en-suite toilet.

Place is convenient, comfortable and safe
