I had a disappointing stay at Paradise Point. We had a 2 night stay and had high expectations based on the mostly good reviews. Let’s start with the bad: - Ridiculous 46 dollar per night parking fee. There’s no shortage of free parking at the bay but since it’s only valid until 10pm you’re forced to pay this overpriced parking fee. - Equally overpriced 44 dollar per night Resort Amenity Fee - Our bathtub drained very slowly, so all our showers had to be taken in backed up bath water. We called multiple times to fix this. First couple of times no one came. The third time someone came and cleaned the room but did not fix the drain. - The buildings are quite dated and the patio furniture is pretty old. The room had no table to sit at. Most 3 star and even 2 star hotels are better equipped. The floor was also quite dirty. Walking in our room barefoot, our feet became dirty quickly. I think for $300 per night, plus the resort fee, plus parking… this fell well short of expectations. The good: - Staff were really nice. Kids activities were good. - Liked the surroundings, the ducks and the turtles. Beach is nice.

Great place to stay for a family vacation. Only issue was the property is pretty run down and housecleaning service was not up to par. When we got to our room, there was someone else's drink in the fridge, shampoo bottle was empty, and room didn't feel clean. Also be aware there is a $45/day resort fee that Expedia does not tell you about.

The room itself was good and was large enough for the three of us. Pull out was comfortable and it was clean. We went to the spa and although our service was good, it needed some work. It's promoted as one of the best in San Diego and there is no way I would say that. The women's area was small and we had to ask to make sure the steam was working. It was a small communal hot tub, and both steam and sauna were small. Fountains not working in the lounge area which wasn't huge for both men and women. We had to wait in the check in room for a bit since there was no one when we check in. Boxes and stuff piled in the corner. The overall facility needed some touch up. If they charge the prices they do, then it needs some work.

Great family resort. Lots to do with your children. The pools are heated and easy access to the beach. Basket ball court was great for our son. I definitely will go again. The only negative was the 50.00 dollar a day parking fee.

I really had high hopes for the resort, the reviews scored the property quite high online and the pictures looked great. Upon arrival the front desk was wonderful, the property was pretty and there were lots of amenities. Our room was a different story, it was dated and smelled like mold. My spouse and kids wanted to leave right away. However we booked via Expedia so it was already too late to change our minds. Expedia makes it impossible to do so. I went to the front desk to see if we could figure something out. Since we couldn’t cancel the stay at this point they upgraded us from the standard room to premium suite with a lagoon view free of charge. The front desk was very accommodating and friendly —- but the new room still smelled funny albeit less than the first. It was nicer, it had a better view but it came with a surprise. There were little black ants on our bed and some hair that was not ours. My six year old made me promise to write a review about our stay so here I am. It’s not a cheap stay by any means which is why I am disappointed with the level of cleanliness. Paradise point, your staff is amazing especially Kelly in the front…you’ve got a great property that has awesome old time charm and retro vacation club vibes …. Please work on the cleanliness issue.

Loud music until 10 pm. Here with kids so not ideal. Hot tub was a little dirty but other than that the grounds were fun to walk. Some what of a party atmosphere in some areas. Might stay at the Dana like usual next time. But not a bad stay.

Nice staycation

We stay here every year and we love it. I do feel it is excessive to charge a resort fee and a parking fee And now that there is free public parking I don’t see how you can justify charging for a parking fee. Especially when your room rates are inflated already.
