Location was ok. Dead spider in bathtub though. No ice bucket so had to call for ice. Took over 30 minutes to get ice. Nice to have a balcony but too hot to sit outside on the balcony.

"Beautiful view from the Hotel"
Shanklin is by far the best place to stay on the island and the Luccombe Hall county house hotel is very well situated in it. The old town of Shanklin has some very nice pubs, restaurants and shops which are a short walk from the hotel. It is also close to the Theatre if you are lickt enough to be visiting when there is something on. The hotel itself had fantastic views from our balcony, the restaurant has great food which changes everyday and excellant service. A beautifully kept garden can be seen from the restaurant with activities from adult and kids alike. The place is let down a little by the desperate need for a lick of paint, especially on the hotel exterior and the emptiness of the reception area which has been recently decorated but needs some 'decoration' of some kind to stop it looking like some kind of civic building. The access stairs to the upper rooms are like some kind of classic Blackpool B&B and really need addressing. The Island itself is lovely, with really great and unexpected historyand everyone is exceptionally nice!

"Nice hotel. Close to the beach."
The overall experience was pleasant. Situated 10 minutes walk to a sandy beach. Hotel amenities were more than average with a nice outdoor pool. The room we stayed in was average with a faulty shower screen which made it slightly awkward to shower in. My spa experience was lovely. However, I was very annoyed upon finishing my hot stone massage. I had already checked out well before time and arranged my massage for 1045am. Therefore it was my full intention to settle my spa treatment bill once my treatment had finished. Upon leaving the treatment room from relaxing massage, I saw 3 missed calls and voicemail messages on my phone. On reaching the reception area of the hotel and spa area I was pounced upon by the reception staff to settle my spa bill. I was so relieved upon finishing my treatment but did not appreciate at all the way the reception staff spoke to my. When I later explained to my friend who was there also, she was noticed the receptionists tone and was also shocked and annoyed that I had received 3 missed calls during my treatment. She should have checked first with the spa reception to see if i was having my treatment done and not pounce on me as though I was going to run away without paying. She should have gotten her facts straight first. I am still very angry and disappointed at this and the reception staff. Otherwise it would have been a lovely experience overall.

"Good utility hotel for the work traveller"
Been here before, and will go back again. Overall happy Good points: helpful staff, excellent shower (I love plenty of very hot water) Bad points: the bed in this room wasn't anywhere as comfortable as the previous room Another bad point (hopefully transitory) are the roadworks on the A27 ... noises on into the evening, and the weather warm, but didn't want to open windows ... bit of a Catch 22 :-( Would be useful: a small fridge in the room

We had a lovely break at the hotel, very helpful staff, excellent location easy to walk into Shanklin and Chine nearby, next to park and cliff top walks and steps down to beach although steep. Good food at restaurant which is reasonably priced and accommodation is comfortable. Dogs are allowed in the hotel but this did not bother us as they are kept away from lounges and restaurant and have plenty of room to roam outside on leads.

Rookley is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Rookley, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Rookley hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
