"Off the beaten path in a good way"
Close proximity to everything, would recommend driving. Easy and cheap to park. If you're not valet-ing, I suggest using the app for the parking meters in Pittsburgh. Hotel looked awesome and paid so much attention to detail. Only downside is the desk staff, they were courteous but short. I called to ask about things to do in the area before arriving and was placed on a 10 min hold then was hung up on. I would have liked recommendations or explanation of their in house restaurant and bar but no one told us about it so we went out. Overall, the roomore was clean and awesome. I would stay again. The price was fair, almost even cheap!

"Nice hotel, within walking distance of PNC park"
Enjoyed Pittsburgh, its a very walkable city - very compact city. I enjoy walking and basically walked the entire city - over all the bridges to both the North and South sides and up to the Strip. Rode the subway (its free within the downtown area) on one occasion to PNC park just to experience the ride. Also took the bus (61C) to Carnegie Natural History / Art Museum. For baseball fans - Mazeroski wall - original piece of Forbes field left field wall still standing - is also close to the museum. For architectural fans - many grand old buildings / churches in the city built 1890s - early 1900s.

"Very nice hotel very close to CMU"
I had avery good experience at this hotel. IT took a little while to get over the fact that the facilities were not in good shape and the staff is so overworked. When I first arrived, the receptionist told me wait for my valet he will park your car, then wait for my butler he will carry your bags, then he took my car keys, parked the car, came back and carried my bas on the stairs because the elevator is broken. At midnight I called on my cellphone because the room phone was broken and ordered room services and up he came with it. But then the fact that they were so friendly and the homy feeling of the place took over. There are a few things that I'm still not happy about, including the absolute lack of greenery in the garden which is in sink with the lack of maintenance. IT's all just pebbles and a few old bushes. They don't give you much in the bathrooms either. Also in my room the windows were really stuck with paint and impossible to open. But overall the experience was very pleasant because of the very friendly service and excellent food and chatting with the service personnel. Please bring maintenance and some restauration to this mansion.

    Explore Pittsburgh

Once a gritty city of steel mills and smokestacks, Pittsburgh has completely transformed. Today, the 'burgh is one of America's most livable cities, with hilly neighborhoods, a beautified waterfront and leafy parks. Heaps of university students ensure cutting-edge culture, an eclectic dining scene and buzzing nightlife.

Start exploring at riverfront Point State Park, with fine views of the city. Delve into the past at the Heinz History Center and the Fort Pitt Museum. Then cross the river to the North Side to visit the amazing Andy Warhol Museum. The prolific pop artist was born in Pittsburgh (and is buried here too). Also on the North Side are the National Aviary and the restored row houses of the Mexican War Streets. If it's baseball season, catch a Pirates game at PNC Park.

In Oakland, check out mummies and dinosaur bones at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and admire rare orchids in the Phipps Conservatory. Don’t miss the Southside, with its Victorian-lined streets, colorful boutiques and lively restaurants and bars.
