Room and staff were great, but hotel is like a maze and the floors listed on the elevator will put just about everyone in a quandary, I ended going up and down several times trying to find my way back to reception with my walker but kept running into steps!!!!

We booked a room for one night upon arriving in Edinburgh for the week. One night to ourselves before spending our time with friends in a flat. I picked Dakota off Expedia reviews and was not disappointed.
A short 20 minute Uber from the airport to the hotel. A modern, dark square glass building was incredibly warm and welcoming. Staff were all wonderful and the decor quite nice!
We were in room 504, top floor and very nice. Took a second to figure out all the lights and we were unable to master the AC controls but it was a tad warm. I did love the decor, colors and feel of the space. I was even more surprised to see our room faced the motorway in the morning. We could not hear a speck of road noise.
Bathroom and toiletries were very nice but the double bed was not very comfortable for us. Only one towel in the bathroom left me with a hand towel to dry off. Not sure why the second towel is stored in a drawer under the bed.
Stay at Dakota, the staff and hotel will delight you.

I've stayed in a lot of airport hotels over the years.... this one does a great job of incorporating some greenery around it so you don't feel like you're staying in an airport hotel! Sound deadening is also very good. Rooms are clean and very spacious.

Hotel is in a handy location for access to roads and transport links. The staff were first class as was the service ,the only downside for us was it's relatively noisy with door closers that aren't soft close so bedroom doors bang shut and I guess aircrew change overs at this hotel as people arrived late and left early.
Other than that it's fine.

We stayed for two nights during the Festival and Tattoo.
Wonderful old house set in beautifully manicured gardens. The owner was very friendly and helpful and gave us a key to come and go as we pleased. We arrived home late on the first night to find the curtains drawn and light on for us in the bedroom.
Breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent coffee!
Our bedroom was very spacious and en-suite with the bathroom opposite the room. The bed and pillows were so comfy, we slept really well on both nights.
We both agreed that this felt like a visit to a relative as we felt very welcome and at home.
For those requiring dust free and sterile hotels, this wouldn't be for you but we loved the place and would certainly stay again and recommend to friends.

Edinburgh Airport is 12 kilometres west of the city centre. It’s a relatively small but modern gateway, recently redeveloped to house more food and drink outlets. An Airlink bus service connects direct with the city centre in less than 30 minutes. Close to the airport is one of the city’s most popular attractions, Edinburgh Zoo, famous for its penguins.
