On 2 seperate occasions the towels were not changed, also on one of the occasions the room wasn't cleaned. Complained about the towels and they were replaced with clean ones. (Did receive a refund).
Shower water wasn't cold but then again it wasn't hot.
Heating in room was good. Bed and pillows both comfortable one of the best slept on.
Bar prices bit expensive, £5.75 for bottle of Magners.
Front of house staff very helpful and polite.
The main reason I would recommend the hotel is due to location. It is within 10 - 15 min of Waverly Station and is also very handy for tourist area. Price of hotel is also reasonable for area.

Nice, modernish hotel. Staff very friendly & helpful. Room was large, clean and balcony view was of the castle. Good amenities. Quaint cafe's close by for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Maisson de Moggy nearby for cat lovers (booking required). Close enough to the Royal Mile (5 mins walk). 20 mins walk to Princess Street. Tony Singh's fusion restaurant within the hotel. Would recommend to anyone.

First, we got put in the wrong room, staff changed over and were very apologetic, we weren't too fussed about this. We then got to the right room and there was a very weird smell. Next week tried to use the air con and it didn't work properly. Then I went to use the toilet and the toilet is in one room and you have to go next door to use the sink and this is where the shower is too. Very weird and annoying if you ask me. Cleaners very noisy before 9am, on a Sunday morning when check out is 12pm I wasn't best pleased at getting woke up. On the plus side they allow animals and gave my puppy a toy and the reception staff were friendly.
