"Centrally located on quiet street"
Hotel is a 1 minute walk from metro and within walking distance to major attractions, clean room and clean bathroom, room was a bit dark. Room key was a bit challenging to open the door. Staff was OK, not overly friendly.

"Lovely hotel in excellent location"
I stayed in a superior room with excellent views over the park and the big wheel. I could also see the top of the basilica. The bed was very comfortable with a choice of about 10 different pillows, including Tempur. The spa was very nice with a small heated pool. We ate in the ES bistro which was reasonably priced and very good quality. The location is excellent being very close to the main shopping area and also a short walk to the Danube.

Gerlóczy utca 1., Budapest - Map
Such a unique place to stay! On one hand, it ticks all the boxes in terms of convenience: right in the heart of the city center, near transport hubs, restaurants, etc. But what really sets this hotel apart is the atmosphere: the aesthetic is very old world and the attention to detail in the decor and design really does transport you (I especially loved the fixtures in the bathroom!) While I wasn't crazy about the food in the cafe downstairs, I really loved that it was there. It's a great place to hang out, especially on a nice day when you can sit in the open air part facing the square. Also, sometimes they have a live piano player and it's just so fantastic to come back to that and hear from above the (absolutely gorgeous) spiral staircase (although don't worry, you won't hear the music in your room!) Add to that the incredible helpfulness and friendliness of the staff and you have a recipe for a fantastic and very unique stay in Budapest.

"Nice hotel, central, next to metro"
Very good. Staff were helpful and considerate. I asked for a room change to a quieter part of the building (traffic noise being a not very serious problem, but I prefer quiet) and was given a much quieter room facing the inner courtyard. Rooms are clean, with TV, kettle and fridge.

"Clean, comfortable and basic"
Room was a decent size with good facilities - free wi-fi, TV (though only one English channel and no socket to plug in my tablet to view tvs/movies) and a clean, functional bathroom with some free toiletries. Bed was small but comfortable. We both found the room suffocatingly hot at night though- even with the radiator off, so-called air-con turned on and the window open, which obviously meant a disturbed night's sleep. But to be honest I can't recall the last time I stayed in any hotel and didn't have this problem! All staff speak English and some are polite and helpful, others not so much. When we asked for local information on our first day regarding places to eat, the chap at the information desk just seemed annoyed we weren't going to be eating at their restaurant. He then recommended a place which turned out to be ridiculously expensive so we didn't eat there, and had to find our way around for meals by trial and error. The one night we tried to have a few drinks at the hotel bar we were ignored by the barmaid in favour of several German guests, some of whom arrived after we did and still got served before us. We were not treated nicely even though we were polite and had plenty of money to spend. We got the impression during our trip that German tourists are favoured over Brits but I don't know why. It ruined our enjoyment a little and when you are treated impolitely by hotel staff it doesn't seem very professional, or make you want to plan a return visit!

Budapest is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Budapest, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Budapest hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
