"Good location with friendly staff"
The La Galerie can be difficult to spot on the street at first, but definitely gives you a French feel as you walk in with the decor and structure. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly at all hours and really made you feel welcome. I arrived early to my room and she was going to upgrade me to a nicer room so I could check in, but then there was an issue with the computers so they just held my bags while I walked around the city. There is complimentary fruit-infused water and coffee in the lobby (I'm a coffee addict so this was exciting), and they also provided a goody-bag of snacks (candy, chips, granola bars, etc.) with several coupons. The downfall to this hotel was the room. With no windows, I could never tell what time of day it was. There was somebody else's bra and socks underneath my bed that made me worried about the overall thoroughness of cleanliness of the room. I only showered once, but when I did the water barely became warm (not sure if it was a fluke that day or at all times). It was also said that there was a safe but I was never able to find it anywhere in the room. The bed, pillows, and television were all exemplary though. Another frustrating thing was a lack of easily accessible outlets. Good room to sleep and watch tv, but not for very long due to dark lighting.

"A beautiful oasis"
The hotel is in the middle of the action--but not TOO much action--a few blocks from Bourbon street. Walkable to everything--The French Market, street cars, Cafe du Monde, etc.--and beautiful inside. We loved coming back to our quiet, pretty room after the all of the sights, noise, and crowds of the French Quarter. Somewhat nondescript from the front, you walk into a beautiful lobby and back to a lovely brick courtyard. The room was very large, had a pretty brick wall and two very comfortable beds. Our room had windows at the front of the building, on the river, so we did hear the sounds of boats and streetcars in the morning, but not too early and not unpleasant if you are used to some city sounds, otherwise get a room near the back. The staff was very helpful and were happy to hold our luggage when we got there much earlier than check-in time. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others!

"Great Location"
I picked this hotel based on being central to everything we had planned for the trip. A 20 minute walk down to the WWII museum, (same road), and turn the opposite direction out of the doorway, and you can stay on the same road all the way to Cafe Du Monde, Decatur street shopping, French Market... All on the same road. Makes it very easy to get your bearings when you are out and about!! Very close to a handful of the fine dining restaurants. And a block away from the Cooking Classes we took at Crescent City Cooking. Nice Lobby, friendly & helpful staff, and clean rooms. The bathrooms are a little small, but nothing to complain about. And the best thing, was having a ceiling fan in the bedroom!!

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
