"Elegant Hotel and Friendly Staff"
Many hotels are luxurious and elegant but the Empress Fairmont is this and more. Every single staff member went out of their way to be friendly, helpful, courteous and cheerful. I don't believe I have ever experienced a hotel with such well-trained, professional employees. It was a pleasure to stay at the Empress Fairmont and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Victoria.

"multiple stays"
Stayed many times. Location, cleanliness, and staff keep me coming back. John the doorman is wonderful. Food is great in the restaurant. I have never stayed on the 3rd floor before. I believe it had been renovated. Very nice and modern. The one aesthetic thing about the room was that the theme of the pictures didn't flow and two the pictures were extemely too low on wall, which did not look right and a small child could play with them.. Also the ice maker on 3rd. didnot work. Had to go to 4th for ice. Positive comment... Arrived from Vancouver @ 12:00 and room was all ready for us. Wonderful!! Could start our vaccation right away. Very clean and bright.. Easy checkout also. Staff very helpful. Enjoyed stay and Victoria as usual.

"Best experience we've ever had"
This is a gem of a hotel a block off the bay in Victoria with superb accommodations. We rented a two bedroom suite with a kitchen and small living room. Extremely quiet, tucked in a residential neighborhood with only the sound of gulls and the clopping of horses as the tours went down the road. There was a lovely balcony overlooking a garden with entrances from both bedrooms. The windows were open in late July with a breeze all day and night. There was a basement parking garage for only 15$ per day. You don't really need a car in Victoria though. The whole time I was there I was thinking this would be ideal for a honeymoon!

"Nice hotel close to the airport"
This hotel is very close to the BC Ferries and the airport which makes love this hotel. It only took me approximately 7 minutes to the airport. And if you are someone who does not drive, this hotel is also quite good for you as there are so many buses near the hotel. Although it took 50 mins to get to the downtown, it is acceptable for me. The facilities are nice and the room is very spacious.

"Close to Downtown, Secure Parking, Nice Pool"
Hotel is close to downtown and has secure parking if desired. Room was clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Room had a fridge which was convenient to store food and water, etc. Swimming pool was clean and water was a nice temperature. Hot tub was also nice and rarely had any other guests in it. Check in and out was quick and easy. The only possible drawback/inconvenience I could comment on is that the only place to eat on hotel property was The Shark Club. There is nothing wrong with the establishment itself, however, given that I was travelling with my 9 year old daughter, they would not serve her because she was a "minor". Instead, we had to sit in another area outside The Shark Club and close to the lobby. Felt awkward and strange. The other thing is that The Shark Club does not offer children's portions and so my daughter had to either eat part of my meal or order a huge quantity of food that she would never be able to eat. We only did this for one day of our stay and the rest of the time we chose to eat our meals off of hotel property where we could actually sit in the restaurant. I know there are more suite type rooms available, so maybe that would remedy the issue, but we did not stay in a suite.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Saanichton hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
