The price advertised was not the same after booking

Blue Mountain is an absolute treasure! Check in was quick and simple. The bedroom space was so comfortable, room was exceptionally clean and well laid out, same for the bathroom. View from the bedroom is amazing. Common space upstairs with pool table, extra bathrooms and sitting areas is a wonderful touch. So many sitting areas to enjoy the outside and views - from the decks to the fishpond! Main house has coffees and teas for whenever you wish. And the breakfast - wow!! Delicious! An absolute gem!!

To provide some context, I am no stranger to roughing it. I have stayed in remote locations without running water, electricity, or linen, so I am always prepared for a rustic experience when that is what I book. However, booking a room at The Lodge at Lolo Hot Springs did not prepare my family for what we actually encountered. At the time of booking, basic comforts were advertised that any guest would reasonably expect to be available: AC, a working fridge, functioning toilets, Wi-Fi, and enough beds for the entire party. > Unfortunately, our room fell incredibly short. One of the beds was broken, the fridge was completely warm and moldy, the toilet would not flush, and the AC was entirely useless. > What made it worse was the customer service. When I brought these issues to the front desk, I was met with disdain. There was an unsettling sense that the staff knew they had us trapped, given that the closest alternative accommodations are at least a few hours away. > When paying $300 a night, there is a baseline of service and comfort that should be provided, and this was not it. My advice to ownership is simple: prep and inspect your rooms before guests arrive, clean and service your AC units, and be transparent about potential issues. Summers are getting hotter, and if you continue to charge these rates without maintaining the property, the bad reviews will only keep coming.

Perfect hotel, the only thing is that when room service clean they leave the door open and mosquitos can get in in the warm months. Just a couple, nothing hard to kill. Other than that, the comfiest beds ever, strong AC and heating, right next to some great food and drink, great hot water, very clean.

The elevator was constantly broken, couldn’t get toilet paper, finally gave me a half used roll.

The one-star rating is NOT for the hotel. It's for hotels.com, which informed me it had made the reservation. And charged me for it. Without even notifying the hotel, let alone inquiring if they would have a room available. They did not, and would not have even if I had booked the reservation an additional week in advance. Make your reservation through one of the other similar services, or directly with the hotel.
