Book Cheap Last-Minute Hotels in Myrtle Beach, SC
If beachside boardwalks, finger-lickin’-good BBQ, and getting golf-y are on your gotta-have-it list for your next last-minute getaway, Myrtle Beach is definitely your spot. And this coastal Atlantic town isn’t just for woo-hooing Spring Breakers—there’s a lot of grownup fun (and sun) to be had here.
Once you’ve scooped up one of the best oceanfront hotels in Myrtle Beach, it’s time to map your plan of attack on the 60 miles of sandy beaches, restaurants who boast seafood that’s simply chef’s kiss, and something at least golf-adjacent. After all, this city is the mini golf capital of the world. But the good times around here? Anything but mini.
Carolina in Your Mind
Getting Catty: If you’re looking to do something purr-fectly unique while you’re in town, here’s the deal: A liger lives here. And not just any ol’ tiger-lion hybrid. This guy is the Guinness Book’s record winner of the largest living cat on Earth, catnippin’ his way into the books at 922 lbs. Meow indeed. And you can take in this magnificent feline in all his glory at T.I.G.E.R.S. at Barefoot Landing. If you happen to be tripping with your own animal friend, no prob. Pet-friendly hotels in Myrtle Beach can make sure your pack travels together.
Cruisin’ for Amusin’: After you’ve beached it up so much that you have those weird prune-fingerprints happening, it might be time to get into some landlocked fun. You won’t have to get out the binoculars to find it in Myrtle Beach, because there are 50 mini golf spots in town, not to mention go-karts and amusements parks. And if you want an incredible peek from the top, the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel will give you 360-degree views from 187-foot heights. Bravery required. Had enough action for the day? Meander back to your Myrtle Beach hotel with a lazy river to laze it all off.
Put Some Swag in Your Shag: Myrtle Beach is not just what some call the golf capital of the world, it’s also birthplace to Sports Illustrated and something a little more rug-cutting—the swingy dance the shag. If you want to take a jump back in time, hit up local retro shaggy spots like Fat Harold’s, or slip onto the dancefloor with swinging hips of all ages at OD Arcade. When your dancing feet just can’t take any more of the beat, shimmy back to your South Myrtle Beach hotel for a little R & R.
Seafood? Eat It: No need to go on a fishing expedition for the best seafood in South Carolina. While the city is known for their gulf of seafood buffets, there’s a lot more swimming around town than that. The Sea Captain’s House is beloved by tourists and locals alike for favorites like their she-crab soup and flaky crab cakes. Or take in killer views with a side of raw oysters at Rockefellers Raw Bar. And self-proclaimed sea-foodies will fall hook, line, and sinker for Hook & Barrel and their fresher-than-fresh takes on sustainable dishes. All seafood-ed out? Don’t worry—there are plenty of Carolina BBQ eats to be had around town.
