"Very nice!"
The hotel is old and to me that is what made it great. They seem to have stayed true to "old times" without appearing "run down". Everything was very clean and the details were beautiful and antique looking. Overnight parking was an extra charge but worth it in my opinion. One thing I would suggest to them is to have a couple of vending machines on the floors that don't have ice machines. Having to leave the hotel and go to the gas station next door just isn't appealing when all that is needed is a quick bag of chips.

"Very good place to stay!"
This hotel is in a great location. We could easily walk to the Lake and the area seemed very safe. We didn't like having to pay for the parking but it was enclosed and safe. We would stay at this location again.

"Skip the frills. MAC is safe, clean, friendly."
Booked a room here knowing it wouldn't be swanky and expensive. Just needed a place to sleep for the night and a good shower. Yes, the rooms need updating. But you will get a GREAT VALUE for your money. Room was clean, staff was helpful and friendly, the location is as good as it gets downtown Milwaukee. Will recommend to others.

"Will definitely be back!"
Clean! Friendly staff! Great food options within the hotel. We enjoyed the elegant older section this visit and will try the modern tower next time. The view there must be spectacular. Be sure to check out the artist-in-residence pieces, along with their explanations, in the elevator/cafe' hallway. Terrific. Also, walking distance to the big lake and places of interest is easy.

"Retro hotel"
The Plaza is an old hotel/apartment building that is very quaint. The room decorations have been updated but not the bathroom fixtures, so if you are looking for contemporary, this is not for you. Our bed was very comfortable and obviously fairly new. Our only complaint is that our room was on the first floor, close to the front desk. The noise traveled well and so we were up later than desired. The staff the next morning were very apologetic! Next time we stay there we will ask for a room on an upper floor to avoid this problem. One more positive to finish this review, the Cafe serves a beautiful breakfast/brunch meal on the weekend. Definitely a keeper!

This was our second stay at this hotel. We were very pleased. Though it does not bother us, the rooms are not well soundproofed and you can hear hallway activity.

"Just what we needed"
the location was satisfactory for us. the room was as well. the only problem we had, was the sink faucet leaks on the floor. repairs could not be done until Monday. we like the idea of the frig and microwave. electrical outlets for our laptops were easy to get to. Overall; we liked the room. If in the area; just might stay again.

    Explore Milwaukee

Beer, bratwursts and bowling? Of course Milwaukee has them. But attractions like the eye-popping art museum, bad-to-the-bone Harley-Davidson Museum and kicky eating and shopping 'hoods have added a groovy layer to Wisconsin's largest city. In summertime, the place goes wild with festivals by the lake each weekend.

Submerge into caves, gawk at the vast packaging plant and sip samples on the free Miller Brewery Tour. The Milwaukee Art Museum sports Santiago Calatrava's stunning "wing" design; inside are renowned folk art and German Expressionist galleries. Milwaukee is Harley-Davidson's headquarters, so no surprise the H-D Museum shows off uber-cool motorcycles through the ages. Baseball fans must catch a Brewers’ game at Miller Park, where the Racing Sausages steal the show.

Neighborhood hotspots range from downtown's Old World 3rd Street with German sausage shops and beer halls, to stylish Brady Street with indie stores and ethnic eats, to the gentrified Third Ward with gastropubs and art galleries. Bay View brims with swank bars and cafes to the south.
