Great stay overall, room was a bit small but very clean, had AC which was required in the heat. I liked filtered water station on the floor, staff check in forgot the free drinks we had in our boking and needed to eb reminded, could've been a bit friendlier but would stay here again. Good location.

We had a wonderful stay here for my dad’s80th and the staff were so welcoming.

Lift not working, need to climb three stairs with luggage, building under renovation, noisy started early in the morning, scaffolding workers walking outside bathroom, living room eve though our room on the third floor, privacy and safety issue, Very messy and dirty with renovation and demolition material lying around in the complex.

Boutique hotel in centre of local park. Some quirky features add character. Friendly staff and nice bar.. Very limited parking and no regard for disabled bays or apparent enforcement. Alternative parking is not free and a short walk away from hotel. My third stay and heating and cooling rooms remains a real issue. Freezing in winter, roasting in summer. Other gripe is that the bathroom door is frosted, except for a broad clear strip all around the edge meaning your room mate can see everything you’re up to and given the toilet is in the same space……..Have given this feedback to hotel and hopefully they’ll take it onboard

Despite the stated check-in time being 11am to midnight, we were rudely spoken to on the phone by the manager when we arrived to check in at 11pm after a long work day plus hours of driving all because we hadn't replied to some messages about check in, all whilst we were driving I might add, so he's annoyed becuase we didn't text and drive! We expected to arrive and for check in to go smoothly, however, the underground parking is not guaranteed if you arrive late, and you have to pay an additional £20 per night on top of your room fees if you want to park your car in the buildings car park. This is not made clear on the listing, at time of booking it simply read "parking is available". The balcony door was also not opened by any of the provided keys, and when questioned about this the listing manager said "what do you mean" "use the key mate and open it". Once again horrendous customer service, which leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. The security guard at the front desk was polite and extremely helpful, and he was also the one sent up to help with the balcony door, and he did fix the issue which was nice. Overall the apartment cant really be faulted. Just naff customer service from someone who doesn't know how to speak to and treat their tennants with respect. We left the place spotless and it still took 4 days of having to message the Staysavvyaccommodation guy on whatsapp to get our deposit back. I never leave negative reviews but that's my honest experience.

We had a lovely overnight stay at the Portland by Sunday Hotel in Manchester's Piccadilly area. The location is excellen right in the heart of the city and within easy walking distance of Manchester Piccadilly Station, the Opera House Theatre, and plenty of great restaurants, bars and shops. The hotel has a quirky character with fun décor throughout, featuring sunglasses, umbrellas, boots and weather-themed displays, which gives it a unique personality. The staff were all warm, welcoming and very helpful We stayed during a heatwave, but the air conditioning in the room worked brilliantly and ensured we had a comfortable night's sleep. We paid an extra £10.for a late checkout, giving us an extra hour in bed after a night out in Manchester, and it was well worth it. We also paid just £4 to store our two bags after checkout, which allowed us to enjoy an afternoon of shopping without having to carry luggage around the city. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant, we enjoyed a few beers in the bar while watching the World Cup, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. The only minor downside was the room entrance. The hallway between the door and the sleeping area is quite narrow, so larger guests or anyone using mobility aids may find access a little restricted. It certainly wouldn't put me off staying again, but it's something worth being aware of.
